He had the option of going the Prep route because of his grades, just like AJL and AJ Legget.

Legget and Grooms decided to go the Marshall route.

Stupid if you ask me.

That's elite speed man. You cannot teach that stuff. It's the difference between a nice gain and a TD. We need more of those guys.

From what I heard he had to sit a year out anyway...so what was the point? And is AJL seriously having problems getting in again?

What the **** is this thread about? I click on the video and it says it does not exist. I read the rest of the posts and try to figure out who the guy is. Most of the posts are almost two years old.

If we're going to complain about something, let's at least be clear about who we're supposed to complain about. We can't complain about Al and D'Onofrio without having something--at least a name--to complain about.

I mean, we can complain about the fact we won yesterday, and that makes it harder to fire Al, and the fact we might win all the rest of the games, which makes it harder to complain about him and try to get him fired, but at least let's be more specific about the basis for our complaints.

Right now, I'm all ready to whine about losing this kid, but I don't even know who it is.

Oh, I got it!

That guy named Grooms. I vaguely remember a guy named Grooms who went to Marshall when he couldn't get into Miami.

That's it. Should I shoot off an email to Donna about Grooms and saying we should start looking for a new coach because of Grooms?

Oh wait, she's leaving. Maybe I should plaster the entire BOT complaining about Al not getting Grooms saying we should get a new coach with the new Prez (maybe as a package deal), saying we couldn't get Grooms on Donna's watch and it better not happen again.

Kevin Grooms reappears at Liberty University
August 17, 2014 by Derek Redd
Former Marshall running back Kevin Grooms, in search of another chance after being dismissed from the Herd following his third arrest since April 2013, appears to have found one at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. The News and Advance in Lynchburg reported that Grooms has transferred to the FCS school and will sit out the 2014 season.

Why say “another chance” rather than “a second chance?” After three arrests, the 2012 C-USA freshman of the year is past a second chance and onto the fourth. That’s probably why Liberty coach Turner Gill was so adamant to the News and Advance that Grooms must stay on the straight and narrow through his entire tenure there.

“Zero tolerance,” Gill said. “It’s a second chance. If there are some things that come up that are inappropriate, then he will no longer be here. Again, zero tolerance.”

For those not familiar with Liberty, it’s a Christian school founded by the late televangelist Jerry Falwell. His son, Jerry Falwell Jr., is the current chancellor. The university employs a code of conduct called “The Liberty Way” that is password protected on the LU website. Other sites mention the rules prohibit R-rated movies, immodest clothing and drug and alcohol use.

Some Herd fans took to social media last night and voiced their surprise at Grooms’ transfer to a school with such strict rules. I’d argue that is exactly the place he needs right now. With as many problems as there are in his past, a strictly-regimented place like that should help keep Grooms from ******** up again. Structure would be very good for him, and at Liberty, structure he will get.

Given that UM dorm code of conduct that somebody posted in another thread I would say UM's pretty strict, too.

Sam Rutigliano, the former head coach for the Browns, was Liberty's first football coach, I believe. Those televangelist's always had a funny way of talking--remember the "farting preacher"?

I wonder if they make the kids go to church, and stuff. So, if they can't watch R-rated movies, that means you can't go to something like XHamster with your phone? I wonder if they can even have smart phones with internet? That place must be frustrating as **** for the male students.
