100%. I still feel good about the offense without Mali. If our D and specials come to play we are still better than ND. They haven’t faced a team as talented as we are.

With the way it defense played last week, it it's even similar this week we better not rely on a run game. We won't have the person's necessary to keep up then. This is all on the defense and Dawson proving he's capable of calling the game most on here think he is. When we're clicking, he's reliant on Malachi. This forces him to use all the weapons at his disposal which only helps us long term.

I hope Cristobals philosophy for the game has changed with Mali out. “Gentlemen, not only are we going to win, but we’re going to put on a show.”
 
ND has folded against top teams under Freeman outside of when he met his match against the only guy who is worse in big games, Mr. James Franklin.

But our defense is the worse unit BY far, in this game. Carr loves the middle of the field which we can’t cover. And we just lost the best offensive weapon in the country. There is a reason the line is what it is. And no it’s not comparable to us being big dogs in the playoffs last year. We were a complete team, then. We are not right now.

Heatherman gets his guys right, or we lose.
 
As others have stated, the real concern is the defense. Now if Hetherman can switch his game plan as drastically as Dawson has to, then we maybe in business.

I wish there was confidence that we would see new wrinkles on defense but I think this staff just says that they must win the 1 on 1s and not scheme to fix
 
Defensive leaders need to step up. Notes, Toure, Smith? Who are they?

Offense we know who the leaders are.

I just hope Mario lets Dawson run his offense.

As long as we can anchor on their ends, that's what I really want to see.. don't get pushed immediately into Mensah lap.. give him time to at least scramble out
