that many of the football recruits that are coming to Miami, are being told by their mentors "Go ahead to Miami. Golden will be fired this year, and you'll likely get a real coach like Butch Davis, and will be part of a tough, winning program that will give you your best shot at the NFL."

They may not admit it, but that would be my guess.

After all, there are no other explanations. This guy sucks, he's weak, and he would have been fired already had Shalala dropped dead.

The funny thing is that there is more "uncertainty" now than there was any time during "the cloud" Players thought despite NCAA rulings they would be building a championship team in the end, like Butch did, Urban, USCw etc. Now they look at the unpolished **** that built a 6-7 team and incompetent athletic department. Why would a recruit subject themselves to a program that has no vision?

I would hope that this is being said behind the scenes.

"If you're on the fence because of Golden, consider that you're getting a UM degree, you probably won't play this year anyway, and he'll be fired after we **** the bed this season."

not sure this is completely true but there is a sense that golden is a goner.

Eveyone knows Golden is gone after this year and would be gone today if we had a president in place.

People don't understand that the President and the football coach need to be aligned.

We are going to have to go to 3.5 mil or more next time to remain competitive. Let the next guy make the decision.

It is absolutely NOT the case that Al will definitely be fired after next season. As it sits now, Al's job is safe as long as he gets to bowl games. This might change with a new admin.

No they telling them the opposite

This.

Al has a bad reputation w SoFlo kids, they don't believe he's a straight shooter... That's why they aren't coming. Not because we the fans are but hurt and not because he went 6-7.

Rep ain't helping but 10 wins or beating Fsu and we would be looking at a top 10 class right now. 6-7 and not one coaching change is a joke, even to recruits

I suggested that mentors would say that.

All others, especially other schools, will point out:
1) Golden is a ****-poor coach,
2) If Golden was going to be fired, he'd have already been fired,
3) The UM Administration has given up on UM Football,
4) Golden has a long contract that UM is stuck with, and
5) UM doesn't know what a real coach looks like -
6) And when they had one - Butch Davis, like his predecessors LEFT.

The football program at UM has it's butt caught in a crack. And until the ugly little troll is gone, it will remain that way.
