I don't believe Manny's firing is a lock

****, how do you get they would re-hire Blake from that?

The poster was asking could Manny keep his job for next year? I'm just saying that if the new AD isn't hired soon and Manny isn't fired by the Monday after Saturday's game, I would get a bit nervous that that might happen.

I'm sure Manny hasn't been fired yet because they want the new AD to do the firing of Manny and hiring of the new coach. There are now 14 jobs officially open. If the new AD isn't in place by the end of this week, there may not be a decent replacement available by the end of the first week of December.

Blake is gone and deservedly so.
I still don't understand. If the AD hiring takes an extra week or 2 every viable coach will have signed somewhere else? Doesn't our current coach show that isn't even a meaningful obligation?

I would imagine there are 5 coaches the AD would be targeting. Some coaches will use interest from Miami for raises at their existing schools (i.e. Kiffin, Cristobal, Stoops, etc.). Those who will choose to move on will want to do as quickly as possible, especially with early signing coming up in mid-December.

This would reduce the number of options for Miami if they drag their feet too long. Put yourself in the position of a new AD, if by the time you are hired all of the coaches on your wish list are gone, should you just go and hire someone that you don't want, lock that person into a minimum 4 year contract with a significant financial investment just so Manny is gone?

Personally, I want the AD to make as solid a choice as possible. I'm tired of lazy hires.

Lead pipe lock. Please.

You don't fire Blake James when they did, leak out these big time AD names, talk about the money being injected into football—as well as getting the word out they'll throw the kitchen sink at Mario—only to keep Diaz for another year.

If Miami is finally serious about spending money on football—this just became a desirable job and someone big time will actually want it this time around.

Diaz will be gone by Sunday.
