I can be both celebratory and critical (thoughts on the FSU victory)...

I’m as critical of Mario as annoying but you guys are really *** for complaining after this W.
Only trap games we have are in the winter @ Pitt and I think V Tech.

We go on 15-30 min stretches where we look how Miami should look. Then we do the opposite for 15 or so minutes. It’s happened and all 3 big games this year

Not sure what the fix is, but it’s definitely frustrating and becoming a trend
We had those stretches every year we won the natty. That's football. In '83 we were crushed by the Gata in the opener. In '87 we had multiple close shaves vs mediocre teams. In '89 we were cruising vs Bama and fell asleep in the to 4th quarter just like tonight and it was close. We also lost on the same field we won on tonight. In '91 we barely squeaked by a 4 win BC team.

I don't know how old you are but I tend to think a lot of the younger dudes here think if it's not a blowout it's not a good win. If you've watched enough football, you realize a win is a win, especially against THIS team.

Yea this team has flaws. Every great Miami team had them. I don't know if we're gonna win it all, but this is the best team we've had in 25 years. And there's no reason not to enjoy it.

Teams know to stop up the middle once Miami gets a lead. They will undoubtedly run back to back dives

This is where some of those RPO-type plays to Lofton would be really effective, as teams crash inside and sell out on the run.

Just a few first downs in that final quarter and you bleed the clock to a point where FSU doesn't even make this close

Every team in college football has let downs in every single game. Luckily for us, when we are playing our best, we are as good or better than any team. It will all come together at some point this season.

You are not allowed to be critical of anything after a win here. Grab your pom poms and lube and fall in line.

Liked how Shannon used Lofton last night. He took the Greentree AA hoodie off during the right game.

Very good analysis but we will never win a National Championship with Mario and Dawson. I would prefer Lanning as a head coach. Mario is a recruiter who is stealing money as a head coach. He has NO buinsess being on the sidelines. Just like the ND game he almost gave this one away too. The penalties are indicative of a poorly coached team. We are in our 4th year under Mario and he still can't get a handle on it. MMMMMM

Our fans 😂

That and we run some screens off of the RPO. The opponent is gonna crash the LOS because we run the A gap pretty hard, thus the nickel/safety starts crashing in you hit a wr/lofton/rb on a screen.

If Beck hits Toney on that 4th down it’s a tuddy. That was a good drawn up play.

I read watched the fourth quarter. After watching it, I’ve changed my tune a little bit.

We only had two offensive drives. The first offensive drive featured Lyle, who had not played the entire third quarter, I believe. The series started off with a bad hold, and I felt that Lyle missed his whole a couple of times. The whole series was off, and it was followed up with a bad targeting by day.

FSU then went on their 20 play 95 yard drive were they made three or 4 4th downs. The refs missed a holding call in the end zone that would’ve resulted in a safety and at the end of the day, you have to give FSU credit on making those fourth downplays.

We then recovered the onside kick, made it first down, and I honestly only have a problem with one of the play calls (the in by Marion). On the third down Fletcher run, it would have been close to a first down had Daniels maintained his block. That play was open. Then on the fourth down, Malachi was wide open, and Beck just made an awful play. Overall, it wasn’t a horrible offensive series.

You should think about brushing your teeth with bleach today. 👍

A few more random thoughts on the #canes after sleeping on it..

- A lot is being made over Malachi 'Lights Out' Toney, but Bryce Fitzgerald is another true freshman making an impact. This is a natural centerfielder/ballhawk back there. Three INT's in five games

- Gonna call Wes Bissanthe ''Allstate''. Never seen a linebacker on the 'hands team' but he was Ozzie Smith out there last night

- Finally, about the play-calling in the 4th. It wasn't so much that Miami didn't open it up more. But you have to keep getting first downs, because every set of new downs chews up a couple of minutes on the clock. Just 3 or 4 first downs can eat up a good deal of a quarter if you go at a slow pace

- Finally, it's great to have a head coach that really cares about rivalry games. Yeah, the college football landscape is much different than before but rivalry games should ALWAYS matter and mean something. Mario Cristobal will always put an emphasis on FSU and Florida.
