I am sad for Al Golden

After Saturday's loss I am no longer mad at Golden, I am just sad for him. It hurts to watch a coach that was gushing with charisma throw it all away because he just couldn't part with his best friend. If Golden fired dortios after 2013 and brought in Jim Leavitt or Coach O, the wntire defensive roster and scheme would be at a serviceable level and we would be talking about a victory over FSU right now. But no, he let coach dortios sink him. I admire his loyalty, but loathe his stubbornness. It has cost him his coaching career.

Are all the Golden Girls' menstrual cycles syncing?

We just watched this fat hag lose to our rival yet again and you're all holding an Oprah-style weepathon. Get your shlt together.

I don't blame Al Golden for any of this. I blame the ****** who let Blake James out of his locker in school.

I would set him on fire using his own hair gel as an accelerant just to put him out of his misery. That would show compassion.

I don't think "sad" is the right word because the problem was of his own making, but this statement is 100% true.

Al Golden committed genocide on our program. Seems to me you might feel sorry for another guy that couldn't get rid of his buddy Himler.

I wonder if anyone has more insight into this and Golden. Even the guys I know who are traditionally *extremely* close to the program aren't very close to Coach Golden. For anyone who might be, my question would be whether it's loyalty to his staff or confidence/arrogance in his philosophy. There's a big difference, but the results are the same.

As big O says on qam, don't blame d'nofrio. It's golden's defense. He's just running the defense golden wants. Some other guy would be running it.

I feel for the players.

Thought Herbie summarized it beautifully as FSU knelt on the ball to end it. For a split second in the 4th Quarter, after Stacy scored, they were getting to enjoy making big plays at big moments in a big game. Kirby and Grace knocked the tight end into next week, then Bush smacked Rudolph to break up a pass and they were prancing around the field actually looking like Canes.

Obviously effort will rarely if ever come into question when we're playing FSU, but they really played hard as **** and fought back when it looked like they were gonna get walked. Sucks that they didn't get rewarded for the effort and determination. Sucks that it ended in the fashion that it did as well.

Hopefully the AD gets a coach in here who will help these kids feel like FSU always does after these games.

Why would he fire his best bud? It's as much Golden's defensive scheme and gamplan as his friends right now. He obviously still believes in it or they would've changed it up.

So considering such, I'm not mad at him either. He like every other man or woman in life would like to do their job and do it well. He has to know at this point that he's not cut out for the job, but the availability of coaching jobs at this level are only so limited. He's taking the big checks, probably the biggest he'll ever have for him and his family while he can. He'll also take the buyout money as every coach does.

What's next in his life, who knows. Minus all the noise, the road from Temple to here with his best friend in tow will be some of the best times in his life. I do appreciate how he stuck by his friend the entire time and in a sense every coach on the staff. Some will say he's robbing us blind, I can appreciate that, but there's not a one of you who would've resigned turning down millions of dollars.

I wish he had won here, same as I wished for Shannon and Coker. It's past time we moved on though, good luck, and no hard feelings. I'd imagine he feels far worse than any fan does about it all, in particular when he's been under attack for a couple of years now. It's business, nothing more or less.

I am by no means an insider, but given the fact that Al has not fired a coach on any level, not even making a sacrificial lamb (in his eyes; to everyone else, it'd be with just cause) of a guy like Paul Williams, I'm inclined to lean towards the former.

This. The problem is no longer Golden. We all know what he is. He's a bad football coach that is loyal to a fault and stubborn as ****. The problem is Blake James. You can say he's a puppet, but he's letting Golden take all the heat here when it's his fault he's still here. He should be telling the BOT that we need to get rid of him now. Instead, he's sitting back and watching Golden get slammed and staying under the radar. This is a Texas and Michigan situation. Banners should be directed at him, not Golden. Golden is trying to do his job. Blake isn't doing his.
