Been reading these boards for years, almost never post.

I have to say fellas, I am tired. I am tired if caring so much about this team and program. My dad went to UM, I went to UM. I was born and raised a Cane but I don’t think I can continue watching games with the hope/expectation that one day we will be “back”.

Is it really worth the stress, anger, frustration, etc of watching these games? of following recruiting, off-season etc consistently?

Richt has really been the final straw for me as it felt he would get us back in the national picture but he’s now on a similar trajectory to Golden with better players.

Someone can try to change my mind but we are a perrenial 8-4, 7-5 type team with occasional upside depending on schedule. Our basketball program is much more competitive and fun to watch.

I love the ‘Canes man but I haven’t felt this down in the dumps since being at the final OB game against UVA.

Just had to vent. Later boys

Try being a cane fan in the military. Even girls that dont watch football shame you its terrible

The wine and cheese crowd finally won.

Football dead, more emphasis on bball.

Of course the academics are still below average but hey at least the gold teeth black kids arent the symbol of the university anymore!

Wish I could tell you that it will be alright and we will eventually return to what we used to be. But I can’t.
For my self I can say I was there for our last great run.

I'd love to tell you to hang in there, but it looks bad.

I'll be watching every game until I die or lose my sight, but I can't blame anyone for wondering if it's worth all the misery.

The only thing good about the last 14 years is it doesn't hurt as much when it happens now. I remember when I saw the light my friend, far far away from the dark side, it happens when one faces reality. We will never dominate again. We can hope for a shot every 3 or 6 years, what you feel isn't despair just reality.

It’s over bro it’s sad to say. Unless the admin has a complete overhaul

I’m just not going to invest any meanful time to this program until that happens.

After watching the canes for the last 30+ years, and being on this board for last 20 of those, I admit I have no more hope left.... even in the darkest days of mid nineties and the Folden years, I never lost that glimmer of hope that we would be back. But today, after all those years, I have no hope left for the canes. We are done for good.

I'm hurt, dawg. Don't ask me if I'm aight. **** naw.

Agree, like I posted earlier we got cut on this one wounded.
I’ll be looking at things differently for now on.

Always thought Cane players / coaches would never mail it in never go through the motions for all to see.

People as a team we lost our fight, we lost this game way before last night embarrassment.

When mention Canes I SMH , never would I ever feel like a towel was thrown in.

Fellas it has been, they AINT NO FIGHT IN THIS MESS I JUST CANNOT SAY T_ _ M with these people.

I feel for the past Cane TEAMS who built this and witnessing the FALL

I said the same thing and got down voted into Oblivion. Until we get a top 10 budget, forget #6.

For my self I can say I was there for our last great run.

Was at the OB for that 2000 Miami vs. FSU game where we knocked off #1...and then at the VT game that same season...glorious times!!! GLORIOUS!!!!

I think you nailed it when you said the basketball team is more FUN to watch. I’d still be upset and angry but if we at least had a enjoyable team to watch offensively I could just accept maybe we aren’t good but these games are like watching paint dry

We've become Iowa.

A bunch of meh season then the occasional double digit season only to lose the big game or the conference championship game.

I think people are turning on Richt faster because we're being forced to believe all the things UGA fans said about him as a football coach, that he won't get us any further then he did at UGA. And it not like they're wrong to. While we inherent all of UGA's old problems UGA themselves have become a REAL championship contender and not the pretender they've been with Richt 15 years at the helm.

We joined a basketball league and the basketball team now has a better shot at a title than the football team does. Football fell apart the instant we joined the ACC.

It's really incredible that so many people are feeling this way, because I feel it too. I'm a LIFELONG Canes fan. There are pictures of me as a toddler in Canes gear. Both of my parents are grads. I almost went for grad school. Grew up in Miami. Even through the Golden years, I *knew* it would get better. I felt like I knew Golden wasn't the end of the road. He was just a necessary means to a better end.

But man...these last two losses feel tangibly different. There is an almost FINAL hopelessness around this football program. It's almost like we've all come to grips with a harsh reality that's been staring us in the face for a decade, but we never wanted to accept.

It may not be over, but I think the reality of perennial mediocrity has finally set in. Our big-budget coach is an absolute failure. Our talent is going to waste. College football is more top-heavy than ever, and we've been left out.

It ******* hurts. I love my U. But man...it finally feels "final."

Can't wait to hear the OO-RAH people call me a ***** for saying all that...but reality is a tough pill to swallow, folks.

Feel the same way....i havent even looked at the fuqin recruiting board. Losing mad interest in this so close to shutting it down for good.
