I’m still in shock

Have a feeling one of his hiring conditions was doing what he did ,canning the offensive side of the ball.

Gotta believe during his interview the fact that his defense had carried the team forever and if the offense was improved how much better the team would be came up in conversation.

No doubt, the first question he was probably asked was what he planned to do offensively.

Most coaches fire the whole staff. I remember Richt was a "savage" and a "TRUE CANE" after getting rid of Golden's staff. Golden was a "SAVAGE" and "Got it" after getting rid of Randy's staff. Every coach is a "savage" until they suck.
Takes a lot more balls to fire people you have been working with for 3 years. Much tougher situation.

Let's keep it in perspective. Any quality Hire would have done the same thing without even thinking about it. Good day for Manny.
Let’s also not diminish it either.

Many people know things that need to be done but few actually do it. That’s a thing in itself.

Aboht what Manny Diaz did today. The balls it takes to do those moves without care. So decisive and confident it’s refreshing. He didn’t even give it a couple of days to “evaluate the current staff” or anything like that. He knew he wanted to blow that **** up. He fired everyone he needed to fire and no one he didn’t need to. He even fired an SC coach who, although respected, was putting out weak receivers and fat linebackers. I thought this was a solid, safe, hire but with this is a home run first day. Hay que tener los huevos buen puestos.

In fairness, the guy had 3 years to evaluate those bums. What’s another 24 hrs? Lol. Happy he was able to pull the plug. Personally I was completely shocked, like drop of the mouth shocked. Truly I thought maybe he’ll make 1 or 2 adjustments, but not the entire staff. Kudos to him.

Maybe I missed it but have any firings been confirmed?

Great question.

I don’t believe I’ve seen a single reliable confirmatory source. I believe it, I want to believe it, but have no confirmation. I mean, someone from one of the newspapers or one of the AP or service writers. Or the school or coaches themselves.

Cant believe he didnt keep any of the coaches from the worst O in Miami history.....took alot of balls to fire them......I am sure other coaches would have kept them around....smh. why would he need to evaluate them...he has been here 3 years with them

He made the statement that if the standard of The U is not held up, you won’t be around very long.

I am impressed that he has been decisive and he seems confident in the moves he’s making. I’ve definitely come around on the hire, especially after watching Mario continue to underachieve with an NFL QB.

Sounds like some players also need to tighten up.

I think we've all heard JJ tell his players that they were on one-year scholarships - and would need to be renewed for those who met his standards.

I'll say this for Manny - the Pucker Factor will be high with him in charge. Haven't seen that since . . . Butch?

Apparently this is what Manny responded when asked if he was willing to let any of the Offensive coaches go....
