Since we are coming to the last few days (foooooking finally) before CFB starts I thought I’d ask one more hypothetical fr the heck of it!
What would you rather have happen/play for us to get ring #6?
Beat Notre Dame 35-17 and embarrass them once agsin on national TV
Beat UF 42-31 and claim our spot as top of the state of Florida against a hated past rival
Beat Ohio State 31-24 in OT to avenge our 2002 “loss” and send the suckeyes home crying.
Personally I would find it much more satisfying to beat OSU in this instance, I can’t stand them and to beat them would be HUGE for recruiting battles.
what say you?

Are you saying those 3 situations would be the National championship game?

If so, neither. I would rather beat a team like USC or even Clemson, because those 3 teams are 3 of my top 5 most hated teams. I don't want them to be able to tell recruits they are just one recruit away from being champs, especially not UF.

I personally wouldn’t be worried about that side considering ND/OSU probably can already give recruits that pitch considering their recent playoff appearances. UF can’t out recruit Miami plain and simple. NOT if Miami is reigning champs. If we recruit strong now just imagine coming off a 15-0 season. Other programs wouldn’t stand a chance

I would rather take down Bama and Saban in the National championship game and be the start of the end of that dynasty

Beat OSU in the semi & UF in the final.
Imma take you a step further.. 12 team playoff and we get all three scenarios in one year, and then everybody can add their other most hated team for the final NC game. But under OP premise, I'd take OSU.

FSU has shown how quickly a constant top team and title contender can fall. Coaching and recruiting make that happen.

(Aside from so far this year) FSUs recruiting has been horrible, which you wouldn't of thought possible 7 years ago. It wasn't when they were losing in the playoffs that hurt their recruiting it was when they started losing most of their games. Sure FSU also had Jimbo leaving and supposedly him not caring about recruiting his final year, but I guarantee you if they would of gotten to the championship game rather than 6-7 (or whatever record they had that year) they would of had a top 5 class and would be much better than they are now as that rolls over year after year regardless of coach.

You won't get a recruiting benefit on a team that you beat in the title game. Sure for some players that might help, but for others it will hinder. (you could join us and help us get over the hump rather than join a someone who clearly doesn't need you to reach the pinnacle)

Sure ND and OSU doesn't really matter just like Alabama since they always have elite classes, but if UF makes the game they will get a top 5 class and inflated classes for years to come. It will prove that the staff is good enough to get there and just needs a bit more help with players. Regardless of how good/bad they are in recruiting they will still get those top players. Perhaps Miami would get a slightly higher class, but that is just on paper once you get elite athletes, who becomes the better player is a toss up. So very easily they could over take us.

If you hate a school, you want them to suck. In order for that to happen more needs to occur then you beating them.
