Hypothetical If 2016 FSU Game is Moved would U be Okay If?

What's more sad is that it's only $4 million we need to do better as fans. But I will say I've hesitated on purchasing my season tickets because of this issue.

A few points based on several posts so far:

1) Why in the **** would Ross donate an ENTIRE season's worth of revenue to Miami as compensation, PLUS an additional $3-4M?!? Idk if you have had different experiences but every wealthy person I've ever met is a tight ***, that's usually how rich people get rich, very good with their money. Not to mention Ross is a MICHIGAN alum and could give a fuq less about Miami if we were not making him money... He's more likely to simply pay is the exact projected amount of lost compensation and not a dime more unless it's to avoid potential legal action

2) Reports of construction actually continuing into November were false according to all parties.

3) Getting a large donation for an IPF would NOT be better long-term than losing out on a one-time event, a 2016 home games against our biggest rival FSU, an event that would be our biggest recruiting event of the year and a win would potentially be our biggest in a decade! Since I have to spell this out for you, we would be losing something that is literally irreplaceable versus gaining a donation that we are already getting anyway! It is almost a 100% certainty that the official IPF announcement will come by summers end according to the way things are looking. Lastly, an IPF wont even be finished for over 2 years and a few months of a delay in beginning construction would not be a big deal in the long term development of this football program under Richt compared to missing out on a one time recruiting event that can help us sway recruits that will be on campus as early as spring 2017 while also showing off our new stadium on national tv. Pretty **** sure that will help us turn this program around faster and thus allow us to have more long term success. The more years we add to this perceived drought, the longer it will take us to get back to prominence. A win over a rival that is currently a national power will change perception for years whereas an IPF will simply be catching up to the rest of our conference.

4) We do have plenty of visits in the winter months but that's several weeks we are talking about in the off season compared to game week in season. Aka game day versus a weekend just like any other weekend down here. Not to mention OVs during a game will be attended by mostly local recruits. The winter OVs are usually for OOS kids and a decent amount of them have been and will continue to be, albeit less under Richt, FREE TRIPS...

But go ahead, keep pulling stuff out of your *** and proposing it as an actual hypothetical...FOH.

To answer your question your 3) statement answers your 1) question as to why Ross would pay a premium to avoid litigation and cover the intangible value (goodwill) to the program of a Miami win at home against FSU.

Also even after a Naming donation is announced Miami will have to raise a lot more money to complete the IPF, hence why Richt donated $1MM to try an jump start the donations. So getting a big donation from Ross in addition to a Naming donation would be huge for the IPF Funding efforts to raise the $27MM.

As for Ross giving money to Miami it makes sense long term because now he is making $4+MM / yr on the UM Lease so if UM can bump attendance with a winning program then he makes more money long term. But as I side all this is hypothetically based on if Miami can't use the Stadium until November which would mean Miami missing 70% of it's home games (leaving only the Pitt & Duke Games) this year which would be a huge breach of contract. Ross has 17 years left on a $68+ MM (spot value) contract currently earning him $4+MM. So as you mentioned rich people can do math so if Ross eats UM's potential $1.5 MM leasing fee for 2016 (remaining 2 games) and adds a $5 MM donation as goodwill (payable Jan 2018) he is not out any cash. An with UM having a winning program Ross will probably make $6+MM/year over last 15 years of the contract netting him an additional $30MM. That is how the rich remain rich my friend.

Look, if anybody owes us $7m it's ******* Appalachian St. for somehow convincing Miami to play at their place. Also, this is the dumbest thread I've seen in like a week, which is a real long time on the Internet.

Lol I would call that a premium alright. Idk what you're puffing on but in what world do you think Ross would pay almost TWO SEASONS worth of money in his pocket for LESS THAN ONE SEASON's worth of games??? If you think Ross would willingly give us more money than he absolutely has to for a school who doesn't care about, you have lost your mind. Do you honestly think he gives a single ***** about our IPF???

Even without this absurd hypothetical Ross donation it will not take that long to finish raising money.

Lastly, how can you possibly equate an IPF having such an impact on recruiting, and thus winning more games that Ross would make 150% more ($6M) than he does now??? There's no way to guarantee he would make more and he's not stupid enough to assume that either. Absolutely not a chance he "donates" a dime to this school. IF we miss any games he will reimburse/compensate us for losses to avoid legal action and not a penny more. This is by far the hardest you have ever reached on here that I have seen. Just no way in ****.

Jesus, just play the game wherever. I'd also imagine that Ross is covered from any litigation if the game has to be moved. He didn't get to where he is by being a dumbass and his lawyers would certainly be better than ours. You also don't want a contentious relationship with the owner of the stadium you play in. Dumbass thread.

how could you be ok with not playing FSU at home?

The UM tradition was built on playing anyone anytime anywhere and expecting to Win. So if we have to play FSU in Orlando or anywhere else I expect Miami to win!

You really are a tool.

Why am I a tool for presenting a viable solution to a pending crisis, and then explaining my position?

Nope. Our compensation should be that 2017 FSU is at a neutral site as well. Therefore neither team would get a home game in the series for 2 years.

That's a solution I can live with even though Orlando isn't exactly a neutral site.

Are all your neurons firing?

Because I'm sure FSU will agree to playing a neutral site in 2017 over a stadium issue that had nothing to do with them.

Why would FSU help compensate us?....lmao.

Just when I thought threads couldn't get weirder, there is this one. Maybe we can use this to get out of the lease then play all of our games at a neutral site. Just look around the country for all the bye weeks and play in the stadiums of teams with the bye. BRILLIANT, no?

At SLS we play in a neutral site.
