Hype? Yes. Questions? Yes.

kid can sling it. check the throw at 2:01 here:

his arm is plenty good. it's really about whether he can do it with consistency, which admittedly none of us knows. but if he can play in 2019, i'm relatively comfortable taking the best man between him and jarren.

Watch the highlight that starts at the 1:20 mark. He stepped up in the pocket and stepped into his throw and still under threw the wide open receiver, that is what the knock on him is, his arm strength but it's mainly in regards to the deep ball throw. Under 20 yards he slings it and is pretty accurate

yeah that was an underthrow, but there are plenty of on-target deep bombs in his high school tape. i think that was more of a misfire than a testament to his lack of arm strength.

Yea. I mean he's not gonna be a Jamarcus Russel type and throw 80 yards from his knee. It's strong enough though and as long as he throws it to the right jersey color and at a high percentage he will be fine.
I agree, I don't see much of an issue, I mean he's what 19-20 years old, not like he can't improve his arm strength. I just mentioned it because I saw someone else say he doesn't throw the ball well and the only knock on him I've seen as far as that goes is the arm strength on the deep throw.

Yea I don't think it's much of an issue, and that's the only negative I've been able to find on his passing ability. As long as he can get the ball to JT and Harley in stride then it's not an issue

Martell is bad little rabbit. We all compare him to manziel.

But I really can't get past the fact that the kid cannot throw that well.

I had this opinion formulated before he transferred, and I'm supposed to act like I never thought of it?

What if this is nothing more than a 3 start qb transfer? Can the little fella hit a receiver 40 yards deep on the outside shoulder? Can he hit a 15 yard dig like Jacory? Anything besides a 10 yard hitch?

idk man, but I definitely think the kid cannot throw that well. And now I'm questioning myself as to why I was happy anyways. Who knows, maybe the kid developed.

There's a very good chance Jarren takes and runs with this position.
All questions concerning him will be answered next fall.

Second play in the video, about 18 seconds in he throws it from the 45 almost opposite hash about 5-6 yards deep in the endzone in the air on a jump ball. Pretty sure he has enough of an arm to get things done here.

At the 55 second mark in the vid, he threw from the 50 yd line to 7 yds. deep in the endzone.

Go look at his other film, he’s throwing 55 yard passes with ease and velocity

Jacory sure could hit that dog route, problem was it was usually to the other team.

video lol. Lots and lots of video my friend.

I'd appreciate a breakdown highlighting this inability to throw. If you can post video and pinpoint these throws I think it would be valuable for the discussion.

I think this is a valid discussion to have because obviously from a QB scouting perspective it's apparent that Ryan Day and OSU like Fields better. He's a special arm talent. A big part of what makes Tate valuable is his legs, but not just in running ability but in pocket presence and scarmbling to evade pressure and make a throw.

I think his accuracy in terms of ball placement looks fantastic but he probably won't be throwing darts into miniscule windows like Tua can.

I guess I see the reason for discussion to assess if this is a concern. But, I feel like your take on it is beyond hyperbolic and overblown. That's why I'm pretty open to seeing what you're referencing specifically to see if it will change my perception.

If nothing else, the competition is good. And if Enos is as good as advertised, the QBs will be fine.

What is the problem with that?

I don't care if Perry is the one starting week 1, at least I know a real competition happenned and he was the best.
The documentary happened what 2 years ago? He could have evolved and Enos is supposed to be a big boost on developing QBs let's see. We added a talent player to the roster, that's the exciting part, now is up to him and coaches to work on improving.
It's ok to have a QB that is a great runner and somewhat limited passing, only 2/3 teams in CFB actually have the other way around, the hope is with MIami talent at the skill position + scheme makes the passing windows easier for him

yeah i'm def not saying he's a sure thing. we just haven't seen enough of him, and hopefully he can get it to our playmakers no problem. but i do think his arm strength is adequate, if not amazing

Whoever says this guy can't throw haven't done there homework on him. He kind of remind me of a smaller version of Stephen Morris. I believe that if you give him a better O-Line he could do wonders.

We will see, prophet!

No prophet, but I can see and clearly you didnt watch a single highlight tape from high school or college. In both videos you see him throw 40-50 yards and puts it right where the receiver needs it to be to catch it. Doesnt mean he is coming here and will automatically duplicate that.
