Perhaps better for recruiting board? Mods will decide.

Hypothetical Jalen Hurts transfer in to Miami.

Big consequences if it actually happens.

Does this help or hurt (pun intended) the Canes LONG TERM?

What say you?

Regardless of what happens this year at QB (starting), once we name a starting QB (even if we do so in August, 2019) out of the 3 freshman its expected in today's game that one if not two QBs might transfer. We must strongly consider taking the best QB transfer available (with the most playing time left) and also recruit/flip a HS QB this year. The QB recruiting for 2020 early on appears to be in good shape.

I think we should bring in a grad transfer but not sure Hurts would be my choice. He's a better runner than rosier but his weakness in passing the football. We would be in the same situation as this year.

Doesn't taking a transfer just hasten the departure of 1 or more of the guys we have? As the answer is "yes" I'll follow up with asking why start over with a brand-new guy who at the very least has to learn our system when we've got 3 guys we're at least familiar with? Right, familiarity has bred a bit of contempt, but there's no reason to think this other guy would be better here.

We already have a few guys who are better runners than Rosier but aren't great passers. If we're bringing in a transfer, how about a guy who's strength is throwing.

So you want to bring in a QB that is very inaccurate and pulls the ball down when he starts to run instead of looking down field....

Seems to me we already have that and most people dont like it

Jalen Hurts took Bama to a national championship game twice. He would put Miami instantly in the cfb playoff conversation. I would take him no question for a 1 year rental if NKosi doesn’t impress this season.

Not advocating for that at all. Hurts is headed for a ride on transfer train.

I believe long term negative consequences for Miami program if he gets off at the Coral Gables Station bag in hand.

Kid has a ring and you're all comparing him to Rosier. Rosier would never have been anywhere near Bama, and if he was, they'd have lost plenty of games.

Hurts is supposedly going to redshirt this season. Unless Tua gets hurt.

Some draft analysts on the radio (FWIW) thought Jalen should move to a WR/HB role. He’s a great athlete. But he’ll never be a QB in the NFL. If he wants to get paid after Alabama that’s the move. Stay at Bama and win, and still play a key role in the offense.
