Hurricane lighting

Mannnnnn, I can't hate...this joint looks real nice and the seats are right up on the goal post. I'm very impressed. Question, though...I have been to SLS since like 08; how's the night life around there? I recall it wasn't too much to do back then. Have that changed at all?

Don't think so - mostly residential with strip malls - you have the casino and race track a couple blocks away, not aware of anything else.

which casino? I havent been to Miami since 07 for the last OB game. went to Dolphins v Bills the next day and Pro Player at that time? was vast and cavernous. A horrible gameday experience. These renos seem spectacular . Can't wait to get down there again. And there's a casino? Awesome

OK, so I looked it up. it doesnt even have table games. Just video table games. And looks like no poker room. Whatever

That's just the orange and green light from the video boards relfecting off the canopy

It won't look like that during the games unless they install lights that just reflect orange and green lights off the canopy

The new LED system, with its instant-on capability, eliminates the warm-up period associated with more traditional bulb-based lighting such as metal halide products. This contributes to an enhanced fan viewing experience and enables venues to instantly resume lighting after concerts and other non-sports events and halftime shows.

“As we researched LED lighting options in the marketplace that would help us transform Sun Life Stadium, it became evident that the digital lighting solution developed by Eaton’s Ephesus Lighting was a very competitive, well-engineered system that would meet our unique and specific needs,” Miami Dolphins senior vice president of stadium renovations Bill Senn said.”

The Ephesus LED lighting system is brighter than the previous system and through its industry-leading glare-control innovations, its fixtures shine more uniformly on the playing surface, creating a better stage for players and fans both in the stadium and those watching on high-definition television. The versatility of an LED system also allows for operational flexibility and the creation of programmable light shows for fan entertainment. Ephesus LED solutions are easy to install, virtually maintenance-free for years and offer facilities the lowest total operating costs compared to other sports lighting systems.

The pictures are just with the light from the screens. The LED's can be programmed too. The entrance with the smoke and sound is going to go to another level.

I actually bought FAMU tickets because i wanted to be there for the start of a new era in Miami. Can't wait.

I was at the first game of the Coker, Shannon, Golden eras and look what ensued.

I think I'm going to sit this one out.

I this point, I'll take two NC game in a row. Coker, like Jimmy Carter looks better as years go by and everything just gets worse.

Agree. Certainly Coker was not some great coach who was going to keep a dynasty going long term or win a national title with his "own" recruits. But what he did manage to do, at least in the short run, is still better than anything his successors have done. I don't believe he was as bad as people make him out to be.

I agree, but that's most likely because Coker at the time was judged by the Cane standard, while Shannon and Golden were judged by the Coker standard and astonishingly failed to meet that standard. I admit that I never could have imagined that either of them could have been as bad as they were/worse than Coker. I miss me some uncle Clappy (if not for the Richt hire).

No, he was as bad as people thought he was. He managed to take a Ferrari and turn it into a Kia in pretty short order. Coker set the stage for Shannon/Golden, and his(and Paul Dee's) neglect in regards to the changing college athletics landscape put Miami at a disadvantage. When Miami was on top, the arms race was just getting started, and instead of leveraging that success and keeping Miami competitive, Dee and Co. shut their eyes. So, in 2006 the Miami job was extremely unattractive, which helped make Randy Shannon a legit candidate. Shannon then went and further ran the program into the ground, making it a job that only someone like Al Golden would take. Golden was a failure here(We can discuss the whys all day), but I will give him credit: He left the program in far better shape than the one he inherited. In a way, Golden was the step Miami had to take in order to rebuild the program to a decent level. With the facility upgrades, with the increased emphasis in support staff/coaching salaries, the job was more attractive in 2015, than five years prior. Where Miami was unable to get legit interest from qualified candidates before, 2015 saw coaches REACHING OUT TO MIAMI. Real coaches, not just midmajor guys looking for a step up. Miami ended up with Richt, and with the talent and resources available, he should be able to win big, and do so almost immediately. I couldn't say that after Coker and Shannon were fired. We all looked at it as a rebuild. This isn't a rebuild right now, this is a "max out the people on the roster, and correct depth problems through recruiting" situation.
