Hurricane Alumni on the banner...

My guess is many of these arrogant peacocks wouldn't even know how to buckle a chinstrap

I bet there are more chinstrap wearers around here than you give credit.

If true then how do we have 10,000 posts about talent vs scheme or 7 pages of whether a banner or poor performance kills recruiting? I'll take your word for it.

Get with the fckn program.

DALE!

Lol to the dumbass demanding proof of ticket stubs to show that one guy is a season ticket holder, UM gives cards that get scanned at the gate, and has done so at least the past two years.

So while you sit here and act like a pompous ******* trying to call out someone's fan hood, I question if you're even a season ticket holder.

Again, you're choosing not to hear what I'm laying down.

The banner is the tool of idiots.

43 people donated to the banner. 43. That's all.

The admin laughs at 43 people. The admin knows that those 43 people don't determine squat, have no money, and mean nothing to them.

Put together a couple thousand people who donate 40 or 50 bucks a pop on average and then you have a movement.

Of course it's small potatoes when you're talking about a 6 or 7 million dollar buyout...but that's hardly the point. The point is that the admin sees a ****load of angry fans who put up their hard-earned cash to get rid of Al.

And if the admin doesn't listen, that's when you go to the press. Bet your *** that an organized movement of 2,000 fans calling for the head of Golden on a platter, with 100k to back it up, will get some major press on your side. Unlike a banner, which the press has laughed off and/or disparaged UM fans for.

i can guarantee you the university didn't laugh at the banner being mentioned on espn and national sports talk radio

they talked about it out here in california. think about that for a minute.

what the banner accomplished was shedding light on the fact that there is a segment of the um fanbase who is very unhappy with the staff. this was not known nationally, where if you are out of the top 25 there isnt much news at all.

if you want change then how can making it a national topic vs. a regional/local one hurt?

do you see a scenario where the school makes a change without it becoming a national story beforehand?

First off, every ******* game that is televised on TV, they talk about how the clock is ticking on Golden, how the fans are growing restless, how "the cloud" was a problem but we should be farther along. ****, we got called "Candy Canes" on TV before the banner ever went into effect. etc.

if people across the country were unaware that the fan base is restless, then they haven't been watching the games, haven't seen the empty stands, haven't seen the embarrassing defensive displays, haven't been paying attention to commentators, etc.

Second, "people across the country" don't mean a **** thing in the grand scheme of things. They're not the ones holding the purse strings. The ones that matter are the admin. And they WERE ALREADY aware that the fan base was unhappy.

Third, I've already provided several examples in other threads about how the media across the country are ripping the fan base for this. They're not looking at is as "oh, look at those brave UM fans standing up for their program by valiantly flying a banner to fire their coach!" Instead, they're treating as an embarrassment, that we're an entitled/spoiled fan base. If anything, it's gotten more people in Golden's corner...the media know that UM fans are fickle anyway, and this is just affirmation of that stereotype.

Yeah, tell me again how the banner really changed things..

Riiiight.

Because I've said repeatedly in this thread that I want Golden gone, and I've suggested that we raise money for his buyout instead of flying a banner....I'm a Golden slurper.

You guys are ******* clueless.

You guys can't look at the rash of recent decommits and conclude anything other than that the banner was a huge blow to UM's recruiting efforts.

The problem is that the university already has the money. They don't need $20 from a hard working cane who spends half their work days on wez and grassy. We just need them to spend it, that's where the banner comes into play.

Picking up your sarcasm, but even so it's sacrificing recruits from future 8-5/9-4 teams to hopefully gain some down the road for an 11-2.

I'll tell you what cupcake, you put up the first two million and the rest of us will match you. Since you've got it all figured out, getting that buyout money shouldn't be a problem for you.

I'm sure they at least know the definition of irony, and it's proper use. Unlike you.
