Hurricane Alumni on the banner...

BAHAHAHAHAHA....

If you're going to try to clown me for reading comprehension, you might ask yourself where in this thread or anywhere else have I defended/"slurped" Golden.

I'll hang up and listen.

Dude, here's the deal. Flying a banner is a stupid middle-school prank that accomplishes nothing. It makes the fans look bad. It brings negative attention to an already negative situation.
If you want to express your frustrations, be an adult and start a drive to raise money for Al's buyout. Money talks. A banner just makes us all look like dumbasses.

Something the BoT, AD, and administrators don't want. So to get rid of it, they have to get rid of IT. Sounds to me like it could be accomplishing something.

Yeah, the BOT really give a flying **** about your banner.

Talk about delusional.

Again, the only people you're making look bad are UM fans, which includes me. And I don't like looking bad.

They give a flying **** about money. And the program looking bad impacts the money.

And UM fans look bad enough without the banner. If this banner is the main embarrassment you get from our fan base then you need to take a closer look.

Explain to me how flying a banner impacts money. I'd like to see the math there.

I get that poor performance impacts money. Poor performance = decreased ticket and merch sales and decreased donations.

What's the equation for the banner?

IMO, the bad press that you're drawing with a banner isn't going to affect money. Its only impact is to draw attention to a ****** fan base.

Flying the banner isn't going to get Golden fired, either. Talk about a lack of intelligence...

First off Mr. High IQ that doesn't have any reading comprehension. I never said it would get Folden fired. I said there is nothing wrong with people flying the banner to show their displeasure of him and his staph. So now that that has been clarified, you can carry on with your slurping

It's NOT about you looking bad, or any particular way. No one cares about your sensitive feelings or appearance.

This is about The U and getting rid of the corching staph in****tion, by any legal means necessary: flying banners; web sites; marches on the admin; or whatever. It's publicity that shames them into action.

Look at the fire that's been lit under Goldorito. Think the more aggressive play just happened? No, they're trying to silence their critics! If it takes flaming to get improvement, then we can pat ourselves on the back for doing our duty, as loyal, and demanding, Canes fans. Are we delusional? Perhaps, but we won.

You're seriously delusional if you think a banner had anything to do with Al and D'orito's play calling.

As if the poor results and pressure from the BOT, press, and lack of attendance wasn't enough...yeah, the banner really pushed it over the top. Good job, guys!

You won by flying a banner? That certainly IS delusional. The only thing won by flying the banner was successfully saying "Miami fans are immature idiots"

High-profile Hurricanes alum, after the game: "Instead of flying a banner, why don't they pay to fly that Make-A-Wish kid to the next game?"

By the way, pretty sure this was Don Bailey Jr. fwiw

And I find it pretty sick that people are using the kid as a way to push their own agenda.

But that's none of my business.

Explain? Cause it's my business.

DBJ, a known Golden apologist, it responsible for the comment. DBJ has pushed back heavily against those who wanted Golden gone, long before the banner. And DBJ appears to be associating one thing (the banner and those that want Golden gone) and the other (your son being around the team) when they area clearly separate.

DBJ is making it like the banner-funders don't like or care about little kids.

How about that "high profile" alum pay the kids way to the game? How about the team pay the kids way instead of buying "Ignore the noise" shirts for the players? What does a group of fans that are not happy with the way this corching staph has conducted itself the last several years displaying their displeasure have anything to do with this kid attending games? These are two separate issues and neither one has anything to do with the other.

That was my initial thought as well.

Not sure how politicizing Carter Hucks' situation is beneficial for anyone....except Matt Porter. But, I've been wrong before.

I don't have a link to DBJ's radio shows, but he regurgitated the same comment that Porter tweeted and someone said that it sound like it was his original thought. It may not have been, but either way DBJ's support of that comment (whether his originally or not) is a misuse of the great story of Carter being around the team. I don't have archives of DBJ's broadcasts but many know him to be a Golden apologist.

To say that we should be spending our money to do good assumes that we don't already. That's like saying that none of us should be spending money to go to a sporting event when there are homeless children on the streets. Guess you (royal you) better give up those season tickets.

Honestly I don't think it's too far of a reach. Flying a banner strikes me as something that juvenile, self-centered folks who can't see the big picture would do. It's an ill-advised publicity stunt that doesn't really affect change.

IMO, that's at odds with the mindset of actually doing something to benefit others.

Pathetic, you are so selfish that you would rather throw money away for a few hours of entertainment than cloth, feed and immunize the less fortunate.

this administration sucks...the U really is dead. DEAD I said. For the last time, this coaching staff cannot beat FSU, I am not ok with that. And if any of your are then you suck too.

I'm not saying it's a cognizant choice; I'm saying that the level of forethought and maturity that it takes for one is different than the other. Might not be a conscious choice between funding Make a Wish and flying a banner...but people who do the former are usually not the type to do the latter, and vice-versa.

Difference of opinion. No one would/will ever put their own money into a product that is poor at best. Flying the banner let's the people in charge know that we will not support a sorry product at all. I own my own business, and could at any time write large checks to support the program I love. But, I will not support this poor product. As a business owner, I know my product will die off if I don't make the proper changes, that's all this fan base is asking the admin to do. If not, then I will go elsewhere with my dollars and so will the rest of the fan base. So at the end of the year, if the changes aren't made, I will completely void myself of this mess. I would advise others to avoid it like the plague it is. Empty seats at home equals no support abroad.

Meh, I've already said this before, but I'll say it again.

Flying a banner does nothing but bring negative attention to UM fans as a grow.

If you want to show your dissatisfaction to the admin, act like an adult and put together a fundraiser to go toward AL's buyout. Don't pull a silly little middle-school prank and fly a banner.
