Good for him Merritt Island was a powerhouse back in the day. That 72 team with Leon Bright, Jimmy Black and Waldo Williams was the best team to ever come out of Brevard county hope he does well.

Those Titusville High School teams,that were coached by Al Werneke, in the early 80's wasn't taking a backseat to nobody!

Matt Walters went to Eau Gallie High School, not Palm Bay. Ramon Buchanon went to Palm Bay High School. Rashawn Scott went to MCC.

Yeah it really depends on the coach. Not nearly as much talent as the 305 but enough that if properly coached can do some damage. Alot of great names though like Collinsworth, Wilbur Marshall, Derek Brown and lets not forget Palm Bay alum Matt Walters!

According to NoD, an elite Pop Warner safety is elite anywhere even if they're running their forty in a wheelchair...those guys were/are about as useful as hemorrhoids...

It's a shame Hurlie coached here during the Golden era. As you can remember from that infamous recruiting room video, he is the only one who knew what a Miami Hurricane athlete looked like.

He was also the guy who was stating publicly that 8 wins is a great season at UM and that UM fan expectations are too high.
