Huh?

His job was to make the UM roster Tier 1, competing vs the heavy weights. Its still Tier 2 and thats not good enough weekly IMO. Any game you can lose if your Tier 2 cause it happens to Tier 2's every season. He has to fix the HS recruiting.
What teams will you put into tier 1 and why?

Just some facts,

Since 2011, all the championship teams have a Blue Chip Ratio of at least 50%. The 2023 Michigan National Championship team had a 54% Blue Chip Ratio. Miami’s 2025 roster has a Blue Chip Ratio of 64%

Blue Chip Ratio of every National Championship since 2011
  • 2011: Alabama (71%)
  • 2012: Alabama (71%)
  • 2013: Florida State (53%)
  • 2014: Ohio State (68%)
  • 2015: Alabama (77%)
  • 2016: Clemson (52%)
  • 2017: Alabama (80%)
  • 2018: Clemson (61%)
  • 2019: LSU (64%)
  • 2020: Alabama (83%)
  • 2021: Georgia (80%)
  • 2022: Georgia (77%)
  • 2023: Michigan (54%)
  • 2024: Ohio State (90%)

So according to the data Miami has a better BCR than 4 of the past 15 national champions. That ties this current roster with 2019 LSU, that same LSU that some think would beat the 01 Miami team.

So again what classifies a roster as tier 1?

I mean what's he supposed to say " the roster is perfect at every position" then everyone gets complacent? FOH. If we win a NC it still shouldn't make things seem easy. Maybe I'm the only one here been in a fight before. You never NEVER EVER EVER show complacency

Well, it's a **** sight better than Manny on a f**king yacht pretending that he's got something he hasn't!

We all saw the Alabama game. That hurt to look at by the end of the First.

If Miami was playing that exact Alabama team first game this year I would genuinely think we deserved to be on the field with them. Before that game in 2021 it felt like when a college baseball team scrimmages an MLB team.

I mean, Notre Dame's last game was the national championship, they're ranked 6, and we're a FG underdog. I have no idea how this season will go but as of August 14th that's pretty **** close to being "back". Having the potential to be a top 5 team in week 2 is pretty close to being "back".

This. If Mario doesn’t make the playoffs in the next seven years he’s outta here.
Next year's team is completely different and divorced from this season's performance.

Totally disconnected.

No thread runs through it whatsoever. Nada.

Didn't you know this!?

He'll be extended indefinitely.

Is it a heavyweight roster? No. In fact, Mario admits it. Fact is it’s probably the best Miami roster in two decades.

Mario isn’t wrong. The two deep exiting 2021 season was abysmal. Sure there were a handful of guys but nothing like a playoff team. He also said their team average GPA was 2.4 it’s now 3.2. And we all know the culture was toxic.

This team is a playoff caliber team. I look at the other Top 15 and believe we are as good or better than all but a handful. That’s me believing the story Dawson is spinning about Beck and the WRs, and the multiple observers talking up the DTs, LBs and Safeties, which are where the biggest holes were exiting Spring.

I’m buying stock. Now it’s time to see some dividends.

In the recruiting landscape I feel like (no stats) Texas,OSU,Oregon,UGA,Bama still as of 2025 are the cream of the crop on the trail. This can change yearly with coaching hires and things like that. I don’t think we land as top heavy as those programs on the trail.
