how would you guys feel about Cristobal at HC?

no, i want a defensive specialist or an offensive guru who has the ability to develop QB's. I was reading an article recently about how many defensive backs coaches and QB coaches turn out to be successful head coaches because of the way they see the field. looking at guys like saban DB specialist, harbaugh QB guy, mark trestman who transformed the bears into a top 5 offense, QB coach, i believe there is some truth to that. what is goldens speciality anyway?

i know he a piece of **** for leaving foldin but **** id be quick to forgive at this point. thoughts?

Holy ****...if they do finally make a change at the HC position I sure as **** hope that they aim higher than motherfukkin Mario Cristobal.

really? i understand if you dont want him because of him leaving to bama but dont make it seem like hes not a good coach because you'd be foolish

Fafi is it? Look Fafi, I couldn't care less that he left to go to Bama, in fact I don't believe that I posted anything about Bama at all. I don't want him here as a head coach because he would be another guy who hasn't done ****...other than get fired from FIU. Is that the credentials that you are going off of that makes you say that he is a good coach? If Miami wants to be an elite program again then the administration needs to start acting like it.

It wouldn't take much to turn this program into an absolute monster again. Pay for a top tier coach that will bring a top tier staff, start producing on the field and watch Sunlife fill up on Saturday afternoons. The additional money made from gameday revenues could more than make up for the additional money that was paid to the coaching staff. It isn't hard to figure out. How does the old saying go? You've got to spend money to make money. Maybe the economics department can sit down with Shalala and Blake and run the numbers for them!!!

I would strongly consider him(Cristobal). Would also like to see us consider Butch(long shot I know)or the above mentioned xxoo guys. I will let this year finish out first. Golden deserves that much.

IMO he gave up his caneship when he went to bama, don't want, no loyalty and questionable at best as a head coach.

What makes him such a great candidate? Golden was a much more highly-regarded prospect as a young up-and-coming head coach when we hired him than Cristobal is right now. There's nothing about Mario that makes him a high-percentage prospect as HC.

how would you guys feel about mike leach? i heard he lives in the keys or some ****

Come on Fafi...think bigger. It doesn't even have to be too much bigger. I wouldn't mind seeing that Wisconsin staff come on down.

I don't know if anybody watched their game with LSU on Saturday night but they gave them boys all that they could handle and if should've won. I wouldn't mind getting them just so that we could get Dave Aranda on board to revamp our 3-4 defense. We have recruited the personnel for this defense for four years now so the pieces should be in place. They were dominant on Saturday night until their top two DL went down. As you can probably guess Wisconsin isn't all that deep with talent. I would hate to think what LSU would have done to us on Saturday had we played them.

really **** no? he turned piece of **** fiu into a team that beat louisville at louisville while strong was there. makes sense.

We can do better.

Who? Im not being a smart ***. I just want to hear who you guys realistically think will come here and we can afford.

Because who we WANT, and who this administration is realistically going to consider and/or hire, are two vastly different things.

We hired Golden last time, who was a HC at another school and had been pursued by other power conference programs. We also tried to get Dan Mullen, who was an SEC coach. So you trying to create some type of choice where it's some unknown guy because UM just won't go after anybody worthwhile, or Mario Cristobal, isn't backed up by history at all.

Don't sell the program to short if we are willing to spend even an average amount for a head coach. You can win a title at Miami. There aren't a ton of places out there that can boast that. Golden was a fairly hot name when he came here. He had been offered/considered for solid jobs before that. We aren't gonna get a big name proven head coach but I think we could get guys like Morris, Narduzzi, or Pruitt.

No, Im not suggesting UM would only go after Cristobal. I think they will go after a few bigger names first. We have before. But those bigger names have always laughed in our faces, or blown us off, and we ended up with what we got. Dan Mullen pretty much blew us off. Think about THAT. That dude would rather stay at Mississippi State, than come to Miami. Schiano laughed in our faces and chose to stay at Rutgers.

So in typical form, we will offer a few bigger names, and when those blow us off, we will whittle the list down to a few realistic finalists, among those will be Mario Cristobal. And he will come in with his smooth talking routine, and his great recruiter reputation, and having spent the last few years learning under Nick Saban, a former HC, a Former Cane, some NFL experience, and the administration is going to hand him the keys.

Based on the way UM's administration operates in these matters, Mario Cristobal was TAILOR MADE and right out of Central Casting for the next HC here. And make NO mistake, I don't want him here as HC.... but that is who we are realistically going to end up with.

You guys are living in a dream world bruh. I mean no disrespect, but you guys are a decade behind the times. Schiano laughed in our faces and chose to stay at Rutgers. Dan Mullen blew us off and chose Mississippi State over coming here. This job pays in the lower end of big name Division 1 programs. The pressure to win at Miami is HUGE. This is NOT the attractive job you guys think it is. If it was, we wouldn't have had Randy Shannon hired, and the last search, would not have come down to Randy Edsall and Al Golden.

Yes Golden was seen as a good up and coming young coach, but lets not kid ourselves. He was not the first person the search committee called. Al Golden was the best, of the few Division I HCs with potential that we could AFFORD.

Some of you think you can throw out a name and the staff can go and get them. Please stop for one moment, think about what the staff is willing to pay, consider those candidates and take your pick. And remember to ask yourself "Do they want to come to Miami." We love the U, but most of the world hate us.

On a realistic note, I'd take Scott Frost the OC from Oregon. Let him find an up-and-coming DC and fill out the rest of the staff with guys waiting for that opportunity. One thing for sure is we will have a dynamic offense and I personally think this team couldn't be any worst than it is right now.

No, it's not. Again, we ended up with Golden last time who had (1) zero ties to Miami; (2) was a successful HC at the time; and (3) had been pursued by major programs. Cristobal isn't any of those things. Cristobal is a guy who just left UM, is an offensive line coach, and got fired as a HC.
