How would this be overcome? (Speculation on next two weeks)

Can’t imagine it’d take much more than that.

Was just going over this scenario in my mind.

Nc State’s offense isn’t great but we don’t tackle.

Pitt is absolutely dropping 40+ on us.
pitt is dropping 60

North Carolinas a pimp
who knew it was gonna be Pitt all along …

You can't fire Manny mid season because you wouldn't just be firing the HC you'd be firing the DC as well. Rhett Lashlee the interim coach? He'd be the senior guy left. We might lose every single game after that. It just wouldn't help.

I feel like as long as Manny is keeping these games within striking distance and can point to a play here, a play there, the admins are going to be patient until the season is over. I'm not saying regardless of record but Manny could possibly survive a 5 win season if he's got his excuses lined up.

At least one more year until the Mario and Manny buyout is slightly reduced or some affordable rock star emerges and wants to coach the U.
The school keeping Manny would be the equivalent of football program suicide. You’d have the lowest season ticket sales ever next season, and you’d be just as bad. You’d lose the class completely. You can’t go 5-7/6-6 in year 3 and get another shot. He’s done, it’s a matter of when not if.

Also, he can absolutely be fired mid season. Firing Manny accomplishes one thing for UM, making this season irrelevant to the point where national and local media don’t care anymore. If you thought the PR was bad when we were 1-2 and Kirk Herbstreit ripped us, wait until the PR you see when we’re 2-6. Lashlee or Jess Simpson can take over as Interim HC, and TRob can run the defense (he’s had previous experience as a DC). The season is a lost cause. The goal now for UM is to cauterize it’s wounds and hope that an Interim HC can generate enough enthusiasm among the players to take us to 7-5, and a chance at a tier three bowl game. Fire Manny early enough for potential candidates to know we’re open. We probably end up being the third best job open behind USC and LSU.

One of the most damaging tags we have even in the portal is.

Come to Miami for a year or two and leave , never able to replace them .

Recruits see they won’t play enough and won’t come because of this fact.

Power 5 or top 10 teams have flow it top recruits and don’t rely on portal as we do , so there flow of top talent continues as we search for 1-2 year fixes and never catch up.

If one doesn’t work out or get injured as King we have a huge fall off to a player who never played.

Just my 2 cents here

GOCANES
That wasn't worth two cents .... maybe two pesos

I disagree that keeping him is suicide. As long as the team hasn't quit on him he is still far and away the best answer of the current staff.

As long as the decision is made right after the last regular season game you've got plenty of time to make your move.

Disagree. Díaz being fired is inevitable. No reason to keep this charade going. Situation is already toxic enough with fans and donors. Giving him the boot now gives the admin some breathing room.

Not saying they would be good head coaches but virtually every coach on the staff would be a better answer than Manny at this point

Earliest would be as soon as Miami gets knocked out of bowl eligibility.

Having said that for whatever reason I'm thinking it doesn't happen until November. He loses to FSU he gets left in tailorhasee.
Do nottttttttttttttt give the Semenholes the satisfaction of getting to be the team that gets Manny fired they way we got the satisfaction of taking Willy out.

There are degrees to incompetency that you haven't seen if you think that these guys can't be worse. These guys are all party to some of the worst numbers ever in UM history. There are more records of failure to be broken.

Over the next two weeks, we play two relatively solid teams. NC State at home and @Pitt (who just rolled VT).

If Manny were to lose those two games, we'd drop to 2-6 on the season, 4 straight losses, and 8 straight P5 losses.

That would have to be it, right?
I would think so unless they both play out like the last 2 weeks and fight hard but come up just short. But maybe even not then. I think both these matchups are terrible. Both have enough weapons to isolate safeties and LBs in bad positions and NC St can run the ball. Hard to imagine we keep pace unless TVD really catches fire and Rooster goes crazy.

cool. keep losing to FIU bro
Typical dip**** reply. Name a single coach no matter the school that fired their new coach after one year and paid a $20M buyout.

Maybe we could have done that and then hired Saban as HC, Andy Reid as OC, and Belichick for DC.

My guess is if nc state is an embarrassing loss at home - that would do it. If it’s a close game (win or lose), then picket will have to do the honors. Can’t seem him lasting beyond October.
Kenny Pickett plunging the dagger seems oddly appropriate

FIU,La Tech and Ga Tech should have been more than enough but we all see how much those clusterfck losses mattered…I don’t have faith that anything happens till I see ink dried on a contract
