They'll always be around at least on the women's side because they are necessary to remain title IX compliant. There will never be a school with a men's basketball team, football team, but nothing else.
I didn't mean that to say all non revenue generating sports will be dissolved but some. I was thinking sports along the lines of Gymnastics, Rowing, Softball ect will not see funding and be dissolved. Its hard to justify paying stipends and giving health benefits to these sports.
On the other hand, Football, Basketball (mens and women), Baseball, Soccer (both genders), Track & Field (both genders), Golf(both genders), Tennis(both genders) will be here to stay at most schools. These sports all have professional sports with too much vested interest in player development to see them fail.
My understanding of title IX, there aren't specific guidelines as to how many womens sports verses mens sports are needed in order to qualify for federal funding.
