How will Gates Success Impact Canes Recruiting?

I believe their success will mean they will poach a few of our softer commits that are on the fence and mean that a few uncommitted studs we had a chance with are now history. Our best chance lies with announcing a new HC several games before seasons end. Even if we sign all our current commits, Golden will **** them up too.

They beat an incredibly overrated Ole **** team that beat Bama in an overrated conference. But they're having success now? They won a freaking conference game.

This may be one of the few times I agree with Sebastian91. The Gators looked like complete crap against UTenn and were very fortunate to be handed that game by Butch Jones. I would be surprised if they don't lose at least 3-4 games.

which is exactly what we expected in our first year with this coach and a roster full of muschamp recruits on offense ( i personally expected 7 wins -- 8 wins is great -- 9 wins is amazing -- and so forth)

the point is to get better each week. Grier in particular is getting better each week which, with two QB coaches on the coaching staff, is what I would hope to see....We saw what this staff and team is capable of against Ole Miss. That is pretty darn good against a team loaded with NFL talent regardless how badly some posters want to dismiss it. That wasn't a squeek by win that was domination -- particularly posters that predicted UF to lose to Ole miss but now, out of convenience, say ole miss is overrated. Obviously people are going to think whatever they want and the season will give the facts as it plays out. That said Every team struggles some weeks so it is kind of silly to dismiss the dominating performance and prop up the weak performance. You are never as good as your best game and never as bad as your worst game is the old saying.

anyhow..on topic:

UF's defense is loaded with Muschamp players. Let's see what happens with that D next year and year after. With the O, I think horse face can pick some elite recruits but not certain he will be able to do what Muschamp did...

geoff collins defense is pretty **** impressive so far

chris rumph has this dline scaring the **** out of quarterbacks like muschamp's NEVER did

bullard, mccalister, brantley etc are killin it

shannon has morrison and davis playing great

db's are obviously great **** tabor and wilson are actually giving up less balls then vernon this yr neal and maye beasts

this is as good as any defense muschamp ever had

If muschamp is the reason that defense was so good why does AU suck so bad? Durkin was the DC and he has Michigan's defense ballin. They went from one good defensive staff to another and until we Start Making changes we can't judge nobody else

and dan quin before that -- who was on the staff for muschamps best year and arguably the main reason for that success --- so it is kind of interesting to see these 2 have success (especially quinn with a superbowl and atlanta killing it in his 1st year) and muschamp fail miserably

Muschamp's defensive prowess is overrated. He set more negative defensive records than any other Gator HC.

**** Quinn was the only reason we went 11-2 in 2012. Muschamp lost to Al Gloden for ***** sake. And remember Georgia Southern? A team that didn't even complete a pass?

As long as this team plays better than last year I am ok with 3 losses etc. I imagine we don't walk out of Death Valley next week with a W and the Florida State Dalvin Cooks could be another potential L.

I'm also shocked at Auburn. Their defense is littered with 4-5 star kids and yet they rank near 100 in total defense.

Will Muschamp.

He is toxic. I am sure he will set some records at Auburn, just none that are positive

Still acouple months to go but gators class is looking flabby and sick so far. Im sure they gonna close out good but still alot of those kids is meh.

Miami has the best 2016 recruiting class in the state. I count 5-6 future NFL guys (not including Sam Bruce).
