I very much want to be wrong with this, I very much want to see a Canes victory against UNC.

I want every porster on CIS to be able to throw rotten vegetables at me on Saturday night and say, "Empy is washed, he has lost his fastball, his brain is mush."

I suspect this is what we'll see against UNC:

Opening Several Series 1H
- Miami, IF they gain any momentum, will have a drive killing penalties that keep them out of red zone or forces long field goal attempt(s)
- UNC, IF they sputter, will magically receive drive sustaining PI/roughing the passer penalties to ensure red zone trips for multiple end zone shots/easy field goal attempts
-- Expect to see UNC take 10-14 pt lead and never look back
Opening Several Series 2H
- Referees will repeat above to ensure UNC lead
-- Futility/frustration on Miami offense
-- Exhaustion on Miami defense leads to more UNC scoring

The NFL doesn't gift the Chief's right? Tim Donaghy is just a myth in the NBA right?

For whatever reason, ACC Officials will skew the game results against Miami during in-conference play.

They aren't even trying to hide it. In fact, they are basically laughing at us.

Or it works in reverse because the spotlight is as much on their **** call last Sat night.

Nothing has changed in eight years.

I fully expect, despite UNC not voting to expand the ACC, they will get all the Ref support they need. The officials are mostly the same over the years (Okay, Ron Cherry retired). I fully expect Ron Predetto or Jeff Flanagan to do Mac's bidding. Commisioner Phillips PhD has to keep his job; the income is needed for the Northwestern hazing suit, of which he is a defendant...How convenient Swofford's "replacement" is compromised pretty soon after he was hired. B10 former commissioner Delaney probably told fellow UNC alum Swafford it was swirling over there in Evanston and he would be an easy puppet. Book it, the ACC will be the begging spouse who is grabbing on, sobbing, and screaming all they did (i.e. officiating) to love UNC... As UNC walks out the door to its new lover the SEC or B1G.

It would seem Riveron is "overcompensating" for his South Florida roots (and like Phillips) is a Tobacco Road Maskirovka
plant; Swofford, through his well placed staffers, still runs the conference, all you need for proof is Saturday night's "official reviews"

To EC's point, the players can rationalize Morio ******** up because he trusted them to win playing the game. If the ACC refs continue to ***** them, all the "You can't leave it to the ref's" platitudes go in one ear and out the other and they are on the NCAA Portal website looking for a team that doesn't get jobbed, allowing their highlight videos to be kept in the NFL package, not canned because of questionable at best and outright thievery at worst ACC Ref penalty calls.

My biggest concern is our defensive backfield against Maye.

I actually feel our run game will do better this week than last, which is something we drastically need to happen.

We win a close one
 
Either way, be ready for endless reruns and opinions of the fiasco all day Saturday leading up to the game. We needed a noon game to put this behind us
 
I was just thinking about the same thing and posting my own thread about it OP. It sounds crazy, but the school needs to be seriously planning for it, capturing clips, and exposing this **** and leveraging it for cause to leave the ACC without penalty. It’s as naked as can be. They could get away with it 20 years ago, but not anymore. The whole landscape has changed and Miami needs to leverage that to escape the stacked deck and purgatory we’ve been in since they stole our last NC.
