Todd Gurley is all about the Dawgs - Southern Pigskin

"I probably would have ended up at North Carolina if Butch Davis was still there,
but God closed that door and opened up another door for me to enter," Gurley commented.

So he would of had Gurley and Keith Marshall to go along with top defensive recruits.
If it wasn't for UNC throwing Butch under the bus...
My goodness, please hire this man officially, ASAP.

This can't be true. Recruits don't know who he is, no one ever watched The U 1 or 2, and his only success was 15 years ago. Nobody knows who built that Miami team of the early 2000s.

Boom!! Lol! The whole "his only success was 15 years ago" and "Butch did absolutely nothing at UNC" crowd gets me.

Hey if you dont want or like Butch fine..but dont dog his accomplishments just to big up whoever your candidate is.

he should already be hired. there isnt one coach that is a realistic possibility that is objectively better than Butch. not Herman. not Fuente.

MAYBE Chip Kelly but I have no idea how possible that would be
 
Everette Goldson & Todd Gurley were both committed to UNC until Butch Davis was fired for the scandal.

South Florida recruits would line up & try to play for Butch. I think he will literally have his pick of any prospect down here..

Former NC State coach Tom O'Brien on Butch Davis:

"Butch is a phenomenal recruiter and put together some great classes on paper at UNC. If college football games were played on paper I wouldn't have gone 4-0 vs Butch while he was in the ACC. Going balls deep in Butch's *** sounds exhilarating, but it's quite overrated."
 
Butch cult fans should build a "national recruiting champion" trophy. They can place it on his mantle next to the "national NFL feeder program" trophy.

Defense wins championships PERIOD.
There is a reason why Alabama and LSU are in the hunt year after year. The offense may not be ****, scoring tons of points like offenses of Herman, Malzan or the new kid on the block Fedora. But the teams who when the battle of the trenches, run the ball and impose their well are the ones who usually stay in the top 10 teams of college football year after year.
I'm confident Butch will build a formidable defensive team here even if his offense may not be attractive to some on this message board.
