I know most of you don't give a ****, or care, but letting go of Swasey to this program is the EXACT equivalent of Richt being let go at Georgia. That's why there has been a lot of negative feedback from a bunch of alumn's, even the one's that don't play football.

Go Canes.

Good analogy. Only difference is that Swasey wasn't even qualified for his job as we all know now

My fault didn't mean to down vote...but ur right, tenured folks with good history are kept in a special place...but facts r facts, homie couldn't pass a basic exam to qualify him. He had to bounce.

He wasn't even allowed in the weight room !! How long did UM have to wait before he passes his certification?

The man was a virus who used his father figure like role to earn the love and trust of his players, as a man, but who's incompetence as a coach cost our team for years. He then relied on those impressionable young guys to stick up for him every time people questioned the job he was doing. Richt didn't fall for it.

DV me all you want...I said it in terms of how the players were reacting a lot of fans looked confused that they were so outright/negative in their response to the firing.

Mark Richt was initially apart of something great and has not matched up to the billing that he displayed early in his HC career. He got fired after 15 years even though people felt like he was the one immovable piece in Georgia's athletics because of what he have done for the players and his community. A change needed to happen because he hadn't won enough, and his AD pulled the plug despite knowing how much love the players had for him.

Same for Swasey, who was apart of some great "end result" teams from 2000-2003(end result meaning they finished with over 10 wins)....But can't seem to match up to the same bar that was set from that dominant period. Difference is, fans don't interact much with the S&C coach so don't have the same feelings, but this man was someone that alot of the athletes, even the one's outside of football, they gravitated to because they loved to work under him and he was a great person to be around. Like Richt, he was someone that the players felt was/should have been an untouchable part of the Miami athletics. But again, like Richt...In order for this program to improve, it needs a push of the reset button...we have to literally pull the handle and flush this ****** environment that the players fostered in for so long. This means cutting out that immovable piece.

So I stand by my initial statement....For those who care to know how the athletes feel about this, they DO feel the same way that these UGA players felt about Richt being let go. Whether us as fans think he deserved to stay or not is irrelevant to the point.

I don't think anyone has ever questioned Richt or Swasey for the people they are. So I'm not surprised that former players or associates are upset about the firings. Plenty of poor coaches or trainers are good people, it doesn't mean they're good at their jobs or don't need to move on to light that fire under them again.

Ban Asscloud. He's too dopey to be allowed to clutter the board with his written menstruation.

So you agree that both deserved to get fired for not performing what they should have, and both parties have shown the similar reactions despite the change being needed.

I love you too fck boy...
Also you should learn to read. Clearly that is a "t" in my username and not a "s". As for use of an insult, it's highly unoriginal, I've heard it many times.

Swasey is largely associated with mediocrity, I'm not sure why anyone who didn't have a personal relationship would be mad.

So you don't think the same of Mark Richt's last decade?

Are you either one of these things:

1) a friend/family/acquaintance of Swasey
2) Al Sharpton

Can't see how anyone could defend the man under any other circumstance.

I think there's a significant difference between richt and swasey. One was very successful and brought the program to heights not seen since the 80's... The other performed good enough to not be let go and was exceptional at relating to players...

It's a business and he got paid a **** ton and did not have our players ready come game day. Period.

At no point do I express the opinion that he should've been retained, only a reason for the players reaction to the firing.

Thank you for actually arguing my point.
-Swasey did relate to the players, which is why some are ****ed.
-Richt didn't have his players ready for game day on the big stage, that was the negative on his resume.

You forgot a third option:

3. Retarded.

No. What he is saying is:
-Richt created a program at Georgia that is consistently ranked and competitive, something that the program was not before him.
-Swaysey took a program that was consistently ranked and competitive, partially because of their speed and strength, and did the opposite of what Richt did.

Time served does not equate to impact on program. Yes, he related to the players, that cool--unfortunately, his job was to get them strong and fast, not be their psychiatrist.
