Step 1: Have your #1 ability as a HC be talent acquisition
Step 2: Lose a bunch of winnable games because you are horrendous as a game day HC
Step 3: Lose games where you are clearly more talented on paper than the opponent
Step 4: Lie to fanbase and claim the talent gap isn't there rendering your #1 ability as a HC useless
Step 5: By saying there is no talent gap you are making the major differentiator game day coaching which you are horrendous at

You missed the most important part. Speaking in condescending coachspeak to the fans and media after inexplicable losses.

What the f*** do you want him to say? You actually think Mario believes SMU and Miami are on the same talent level?

Mario is losing the fan base but not because of stuff like this.

Just give up. I've tried to convince people for years to not listen to a word coaches say. None of them. Not good, not bad. They're not going to listen though.

None of this matters. Wins. Losses.

That is all.

It doesn't take much to lose this fanbase. We're already gone after the first drive of the game

That is all.

Effort matters. Attention to detail matters.

Even if we'd won the game at SMU, there were red flags all over the place that — eight games into the season — reflected poorly on the coaching staff.

Teams like that inevitably bite the dust as the season goes on

Seriously.

He either can’t evaluate or doesn’t know how to use the talent he’s got.

Either way, Miami is far outpacing the rest of the conference in terms of roster spending.

So it has to be either of those two things. There is no third option.

Disagreeing with you in this specific instance. Mario plays each game and every situation as though every team is equal

I mean it's coach speak. Hes not supposed to talk down on their talent. Listen to him talk about Bethune.

Step 6: Overpowering coffee breath

I'm not talking about any of that. I'm talking about people wasting the valuable time on earth listening to what coaches say in interviews.

They don't want to do this ****. It's all just fluff until they can get the **** out of the chair/away from the podium.

You get 24 hours in a day, do yourself a favor and don't waste any of them listening to coaches talk. None of them.
