How the gator beats Miami defense

1. Motion, misdirection plays. find ways to get our LBs and Edges in coverage vs their rbs and slots

2. Tempo. We struggled vs it last year, id at least try it to steal a first down or two, or score before half

3. Hope mertz can stay poised when our dline is going at him. Test our corners besides DP2
Number 2 is the biggest thing I see as a potential chess move by them. But knowing Billy and how stubborn he is and the style he plays they will be in 12 personnel with bunch formations and they will be behind the sticks a lot.

The absolute best thing they can do to help their offense is to not fall behind early. If they have to throw the ball a lot, they will lose. Last year, every game where they couldn’t get the running game going, they couldn’t score. Even if the passing game put up good numbers, they couldn’t make it translate to points. Everything they do is dependent on them being able to run the ball. Get the lead early, make them pass happy, Get an easy victory. Keep the score close, allow them the option of running the ball, you’re asking for trouble.

UF’s best chance is if this is a defensive slug fest. If it turns into a shoot out, they don’t have the horses.
