This is not a coordinator debate so please leave that to the other 50 threads. I just looked over the roster and I am not sure that we have one player that will be drafted in the first two days of the draft. Henderson is probably it and that is questionable as a guy who doesn't start and has been suspended numerous times. Has there ever been a good team without one draft elgible player going in the first 3 rounds? I am talking about power conferences only. It's truly amazing that 3,4 and 5 years ago we didn't sign anyone that is still on the team that is an nfl talent.

We have enough talent to not let the 100th ranked offense in the country curbstomp us at home with a championship game on the line.

Not as talented as nearly everyone of us coolaid drinking ****'s thought going into the season.

All the talent is in the underclassmen... Future 1st and 2nd rounders all over it..

Upperclassmen well they might make some practice squads

The better talents on the team are mostly underclassmen. I think what most of us were hoping for was improved development of the upperclassmen. We've seen guys like Hurns, Shayon, Gaines, Walford, Wheeler take steps forward and become very nice players. But we've also seen guys like Chick, Scott, Perryman, Pierre, Morris, McDermott not take the next step and become great players.

Coaching, recruiting and player development ALL must improve. I half expect Golden to get it right, I just hope he does what needs to be done sooner than later.

I keep having this argument with friends. We overrated our talent. Look at the defense for example and how many difference makers do you see?

Many of our guys were not highly recruited and for good reason. We have nowhere near the level of talent we should have at Miami. It's going to take time boys.

When he was hired everyone praised him ad nauseum for being able to develop talent. "If he can win with Temple players then he certainly can with Miami players". 3 years in and now the excuse is that we have no talent. What happened to him being such a great developer of talent? Good coaches make the most out of whatever talent they have to work with.

Lets look at it from this perspective.

Our best offensive Player: Duke, Soph
Our best defensive player: Tracy Howard, Soph

Duke & Dorsett get injured...we have 3 true freshmen on kickoff and punt return duty. There isn't a single upper classmen who is considered to be a playmaker that can take over that job from them. When 2 freshmen fumble we respond with..................another freshmen lol.

Gus Edwards was a 3 star RB, who is good but now is playing. because we simply don't have any other RB
2* RB/FB Walter Tucker is 1 injury away from seeing meaningful reps.

If we loose another WR i actually don't know who would come in to play.
.....And that was an evaluation of our strongest unit...

Defense..I'm going to keep it simple. every player who is a Redshirt So. (if we even have any RS sophs on this team?) or older is a jag to me until proven otherwise.

Is there some talent there yes. But overall there really isn't much on this team. This class and last years class will define Golden. Primary looking at Kevin Olsen and Brad Kayaa should he stick..one of them has to be legendary PERIOD.

So you would trade rosters with Duke, ECU, Marshall, BC? Those team had no trouble slowing down the offensive juggernaut we just allowed to accumulate 500 yards and score 42 points.

Wow it appears u don't have much talent in the reading comprehension statistic.

You don't think having this current team at 7-2 is impressive considering the defense doesn't have a first day NFL draft pick on that unit presently?

Our best WR statically is Allen Hurns who is considered a day-2 at best (obviously could change when teams see him work out)

Can u not comprehend either. This has nothing to do with on the field performance as how it relates to stopping vt. Just a general question about the team.

You don't have to be draft eligible to be talented. And you don't have to be all that talented to stop Vag Tech. Just ax Duke University.

Did Golden just get here? He's recruited 3 classes and around 70 kids since he's gotten here. if our talent issue is as bad as you believe it is, that's on him.

many of the players golden has brought in have made strides. if they were normal eddie johnson and rashawn scott would be all acc. duke, denzel, tracy, jenkins, etc have all made tremendous strides. I believe coley, grace, artie, gus, and jamal carter will step up next year. the players who really havent developed were the holdovers. U cant tell me we have linemen on this team with the talent of chad thomas, travonte valentine, etc.
coach golden said on radio this morning, we are relying on aqm for pass rush. the kid is ultra talented but a true freshmen with skinny legs. mccord is
a true soph who should have redshirted, that tells u something.
