How simple a problem, but a tough fix.

It's obvious that opposing teams know Richt favors a power running game. Unfortunately, this Oline is not up to the challenge. Maybe Richt should go to a predominantly passing attack to open up the running game. AND, that doesn't mean chucking bombs on every play. Short passes to TE over the middle, RBs and short passes to the sidelines. 5 yards per catch is just as effective, or more, than trying to get 3 or 4 up the middle. Dictate to the opposing defenses....do not let them dictate.

The OL play is atrocious. QB play is awful. Richt is not a good enough OC to cover up those two issues. Not sure there are any that can. This is like trying to run without legs.

Searles should be fired this offseason.

Malik with all the time in the world could never complete enough passes for us to win a ACCCG
 
We have personal deficiencies on the O-Line and QB. Those things are not getting fixed in middle of the season, in the short term Richt needs to make due with what he has and try to scheme around our weaknesses, which he has failed miserably at. Our offensive personnel is not so bad that you can’t score more than 13 points against a mediocre VA team after your defense gives you 3 TURN OVERS!!!. We can’t continue to run the same ****** plays that aren’t working week after week.
In the offseason, he will need to take a long hard look at his failure in recruiting and development at those positions. Figure out how we got in this mess and make the necessary changes to get it fixed. Like go get an OC, QB and OL coach.
 
Gauthier gets blown up routinely, will go undrafted.
St. Louis gets beat off the edge, will go undrafted.
Jones is slow and unathletic, will go undrafted.
Mahoney gets lifted and shoved into the QB.
Donaldson is fine I guess.
Scaife is a babe.
Boulware is JAG.

Gaynor, Herbert, Hillery, Campbell, Reed, Dykstra, Milo, Brown might as well not exist.

One thing/person that makes me scratch my head is Gaynor. That kid was an absolute animal in high school and he's not really panning out here.

My guess/hope is that the coaches are intentionally redshirting him so that he has the center role for the next 3 years.

The play calling might be a problem? The design of our run plays might be a problem?
