How simple a problem, but a tough fix.

Everyone, am I missing something or is it just plain to see that the main problem is the O-Line. If that O-Line is lights out or even really good, we stomp all teams (up to the ACCCG). QB play would not be an issue because we would run the chit out of the ball and only pass when we needed to or felt it gave us an advantage. Simple fix....upgrade the ******* O-line, either the coach or the players and I don't see the players being upgraded. Just saying.

No. That excuse has worn thin. Look at the UVA game breakdowns. The players on the OL aren't subbing in for themselves and continuously not having the best 5 on the field. Sometimes they miss blocks, but that happens with every team. Rick's playcalling is easily guessed by the defense so they have numbers on the line, it's not fair to criticize 5 OL for not being able to get push when the opponent has 8 or 9 in the box. Then that puts the O in 3rd and long, defense doesn't respect the pass (for good reason) and DBs on a blitz destroy the QB. No way in **** an OL is going to get out of his stance and pick up a blitzing CB while trying to stay in front of the DL at the same time.

Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming the O-Line personally. My comment was more directed at the coach of the O-Line. Line same chit last 3 years and I don't see any 5* recruits lining up to come to UM. We have some talent. Just not sure O-Line coach is the one to take us where we need to be.

Bad Oline play and even worse QB play means stinky offense. Which is what we have.

I put the blame on Richt because he’s the man in charge.

Even with his vanilla offense, just average OLine and QB play gets us a win at VA...by at least a couple of scores.

He’s not innovative nor does he seem capable of adjusting to the talent he has, but the playcalling angle is overplayed.

Genius playcalling with our QB and Oline may have gotten us a win vs UVA, but I’m not even sure of that. I’d rather have better talent at QB and OL. Just average performance, really.

Either way, it’s on the head man.

This team is talented and fast enough to go thru the coastal even with this O line. Recht’s W/L record will always be a step behind what his talent should produce.

Get that O line, and he’ll still get stomped in the ACC CG.
 
We lost to a UVA team that did not play anywhere near their best possible game. Yep, ya missed something

That is one of the philosophic issues that will never work here. We are not Bama and will never be. If we can't pass we successfully we will not run the ball and will hurt our recruiting base

You must have missed Mahoney getting clapped by a CB, and pushed 5 yards back by a DT.
 
While Richt was at Georgia - Miami had more Offensive Lineman drafted than Georgia did (and drafted higher). So that's not good.

Richt has recruited only 4 4Star OL in the last 3 years, and only 1 is committed for this year. We need to recruit more talent.

Given these 2 facts - I think OL will continue to be a struggle under Richt. But his skill position recruiting has been great.
 
X&O dudes... how do high octane offensive teams with a ton less talent at OL get it done?
