How? He’s really not being used properly right now. Got him spying on most of his snaps. That ain’t his game. He’s fast AF but lacks the COD to spy like a backer/safety. Dropping into the flats is cool but spying fast ahs QBs at 6’5 is a tall task. This was Lightfoot's year to "make a difference."
You are in error mi amigo. This year he has been "a see ball, get ball defender. He has made plays all year. The coaching staff trusts him and that's why his playing time this has increased by triple. I can guarantee he will be a pressure rush-end next year! How? He said that at the beginning of the video, but when he watched it again later from another angle he changed his mind. Gave Toure props all video.8:44 Someone tell this hayseed that wasn't targeting by Mo Toure!
Lightfoot is an intriguing player with a high ceiling imo. He's tall, rangy with great length(pause) plus serious speed and bend for his height. At 6'5" 230 lbs he is still too light in the A$$ to be a true DE in Hetherman's defense but if he can get up to 250+ or ideally 260 he may develop into one heck a pass rusher. I actually like the way Hetherman is using him this season although at first I didn't care for it. Right now Lightfoot is being used like a Rover/Spy and lines up all over the place when he does play which is usually about 20+ snaps a game IIRC. It will be interesting to see how much weight and core strength he can gain during the upcoming off season. Like I said before, I would like to see him get up to 260 lbs eventually but I would be ecstatic if he reports to fall camp at 245 lbs.Lightfoot has some bend man, jeesh. Coming out party with him for me
Actually, he played way more at the beginning of the season. Snap counts have been cut down a bit. I’m not saying he hasn’t made plays, of course he has, but he has also missed some tackles a faster quicker, smaller defender makes when spying. But when he’s lined up at End and Bain/Mesi goes inside, he’s provided the speed rush. That’s why I went on record saying we don’t need a DE in the portal to fill Mesi’s role cause this guy will step in and ball out! He needs a BIG offseason with some weight gain to be an every down DE. Montez Sweat type DE but needs 10 pounds during the offseason and he will EAT!You are in error mi amigo. That’s what I said, but he’s actually very strong for his size! He routinely sheds big blockers. At 240-245, he’ll be more than strong enough to be able to stop the run! Hopefully he’s able to gain some more weight thoughLightfoot is an intriguing player with a high ceiling imo. He's tall, rangy with great length(pause) plus serious speed and bend for his height. You can’t do this against OSU.
