How many years will Richt coach at Miami?

5 years and I think we will be very pleased. Maybe more but at least 5. Richt would never coach in the NFL. He loves the college game and he's all about teaching young men to be better men. That's something NFL franchises are not interested in.

Unless he flops (not saying he will, but anything is possible) I see him staying here at least another 10 years and finishing his coaching career. He's not interested in an NFL job, the money Miami is paying him is substantial and let's be real, his road to success here is much easier than somewhere like LSU. Barring catastrophe, he's in for the long haul.

Simple question... how long do you think Mark Richt stays at Miami and why?

Personally, and hopefully I'm not being overly optimistic or delusional, but I'm hoping he stays for 12-15 years and keep us in the top 10 consistently.
He doesn't strike me as a guy who would leave for the NFL. I hope he stays until he retires.

UM hasn't really had a long tenured coach before, (like a Bowden, Beamer, Stoops, Ferentz type guy) so why couldn't it be Richt?

He loves football too much. I think he will coach at UM 8-10 years if he is very successful in the first 5 years

Man hasn't coached one practice yet and folks here talking about his leaving. Players sign and the folks start talking about when they're leaving.

Oy vey.

he will finish his coaching career in miami, he said he thought he would end his career at UGA...... he wont bounce around

He will be here until he gets a better job back in the SEC.

No.

You don't think if LSU came calling in a year or two he would bolt?
jimbo fisher is gone in that case since you know they wanted him this year

How do you know they wanted him?

Dont see him jumping to the NFL. I don't see him being fired here either. I think he leaves, whenever that may be, of his own accord.

That said, we are a demanding fan base. I think he gets it done here (title) by year 3 or 4. I won't speculate on more, but with that title ( and hopefully more), he stays as long as he wants.

Here's the thing that most of you don't understand about Mark. He answers to a higher call. I do think he is energized about the chance to make his mark at Miami. He was treated like $%^& by the administration at UGA for the last 5 years. They neither supported nor encouraged his efforts. He will be at Miami as long as he is wanted. If he hasn't won a NC within 5 years he will leave it to someone else. He sincerely WANTS to succeed here. He wanted to succeed at UGA but was never given a real chance with full support of the AD. I want more than anything to see him get his reward for doing things the right way and I hope he can pull it off. Either way I think he stays until he feels it is best for him to leave and not a minute longer. There are just not many men like CMR in college sports.

5 years if he wins it all within that time frame

10 years if he doesn't.

I think his intention is to win it all and sail off into the sunset. Would love to see that happen as a canes fan obviously but for Richt as well.

Lastly lol at anyone that thinks he's leaving Miami for another job.

When most hurricane fans say things like that, they mean since they started following the team. But, yeah, Gus was Miami football when I started following the team.
