How many of you are seriously considering dropping the Canes

You never drop the Canes. You move back and fourth from intense to passive but walk away? Never. By the way this is my seventieth year. Since age seven.

There have been times when I just checked the box score and not invest all the minutes of watching and being disappointed but totally not care.....could never do it.

That's the same thing
No its not. Dropping them to me means no even check the score or switching teams. I would never do any of that. No matter how much I hate el foldo. I'm too invested in these teams at times and sometimes it good to step back and think about life differently, it gives you a different perspective and sometimes you are more relaxed and realistic about sports.

I don't get it, you're "invested" in a team by checking the box score? So I assume if Miami starts a winning streak you'll tune in cause of past box scores and if we keep losing the box scores, you won't tune in.

That's a fair weather fan
Shut the *** up. You want to tell me clown *** ****. I traveled to Liverpool to watch a **** soccer game and they haven't won a league title since 1990. I keep buying canes tickets and gears, yet they have not even as much as won double digit games since 2003. I don't even need to say anything about the Dolphins. I have never seen them won anything. Wtf is there to be fairweather about? You stupid idiot

Check box scores. Your words buddy. I can do that too but won't call myself invested.

To me you're either all in or nothing. I don't get that passive way of following a team.

And btw, there are more ways to be good in soccer than winning league titles. Liverpool was finishing top 4 annually until 2009 and even won a champions league in that time and went to another final. Not tough to follow them.

My love for my sports teams is coded into my DNA.

Don't know about this dropping teams nonsense you speak of

I underlined the important part for you.

These ain't the Canes... They've become the Hurripains under Golden. The name and colors of a school mean nothing apart from the coach. Al embodies nothing that the Canes came to represent. As long as he's there, they're not really the Canes to me.

Top 4 is not a title, that's some **** Golden would say. The Champions League was 9 years ago. And checking box score is being invested, but not too invested. How many years can we complain about the same thing and feel powerless to do anything. That's when I take a step back. Could be a month or two. Don't tell me **** about Fairweather.

Would never drop or switch.

Thinking about taking a hiatus. Maybe spending my fall Saturdays fishing until the University decides it actually gives a **** about football again.

I would never switch to another team but would seriously consider taking a break from college football in general if Golden is given another year

I've decided not to sign up for the Hurricane Club or offer bowl tickets to students or whatever else I used to do to support the team. But this isn't just a football decision. I'm not investing money into Miami anymore until they make a change. And this isn't about football either.

It's the Golden Tropical Depressions.

This guy has sucked the soul out of Miami born and raised kids. I bet if you look at them they're dead behind the eyes, lobotomized.

I can't continue to watch Golden ruin the career of kids before they even start, like he's already done to much of 2012 recruiting class.

I won't stop being a canes fan, ever. But I can tell you I will not be repeating my contribution to the athletic department again this year, will not be buying any canes gear, my friends and I probably wont make too concerted an effort to adjust weekend plans around game times.

Canes hoops. I hope I get struck by lightning before I ever wear anything but Orange and Green. Cane4Life.

I'll still watch every snap, but it will be frustrating to watch. If I am able to watch the Canes(fb, basketb, baseb) then I will.

I'll never drop them. I'm a Cane alum and will always be a fan, however, I will not be invested emotionally anymore. The Pitt game was the first time I actually laughed at the Canes it was such a joke. Wasn't upset in the least. The administration clearly isn't interested in fielding a top-notch team. Time to accept it and move on

I won't switch teams, I just won't watch or support. I will just do something else with my Saturdays

If you are still coming to this site after ten F'n years of mediocrity, coupled with this disaster of a season, then I don't think one could ever stop loving the canes. We all have our disagreements, but everyone active on this board is a true canes fan. Minus the g-**** lurkers

Trying to change your fanship would be like asking Kevin not to be a homo. Not biologically possible.

I just won't follow them. Including the sites and blogs.

I guarantee this site will see a massive drop in viewership if Golden is retained, b/c of disinterest. Feel for Andrew, who will lose revenue b/c of the admins incompetence. Maybe CIS will endorse a fire Al campaign?
