How many FSU kids play at Miami?

I thought the other DT Lyons #5 played a great game against us. Only guy that comes to mind that you didn't mention.

Jayvan Boggs? He has 5 catches in his career. Is he better than Josh Moore right now? Moore played, what? 3 snaps? Boggs is not playing right now at Miami. Neither is Lawayne McCoy. Would both Desir twins play? Are you saying if they were on the roster, they’d rotate in and spell Bain and/or Mesidor, and the reason those kids are playing almost every snap is we don’t have backups as good as those 2 kids?

I asked for opinions, and you gave yours. So I respect and appreciate it. I disagree with the Boggs and McCoy. But the Desir kids are interesting, I think Mario would definitely take them now in hindsight, but would they actually play?

I’ll give you those two. That’s 7, total. And as far as Kromah, if we assume Lyle doesn’t get hurt, do you think he’s playing when games are in doubt ahead of Fletcher, Brown or Lyle? I can’t say I agree. And I’m not sure we’d be playing 4 backs. I think he’s probably got Pringle’s role, at best.
You are right. I like McCoy better than Boggs. But neither would be playing for Miami nor should they be. But I'd take McCoy over Carr and Ray Ray.

As for the Desir twins, it is a tough comparison because maybe Scott and Blount are better, they just aren't getting enough chances to shine quite yet. They are certainly more physically gifted. I just like that better twins' motor and that usually helps with early PT.

I wouldn't trade any of our three backs for Kromah today and you are right they wouldn't play four, but I do think he is the mostly physically gifted of any of them. He moves really well for that size.

Mike seems to think Blount is the missing piece to his team.

I’d add little earl. He showed a lot of effort. I mean, just look at him lead blocking for Toney!

Fair. I did notice him on rewatch as well. I actually thought their DL played better than I expected. They stood our kids up a few times, and we were confused a few times on the OL. I didn't think it was the best performance by our OL, and obviously they set out to just make us one-dimensional. Which is fine, we have an NFL QB and some excellent receivers. Wanna have 10 guys within 8 yards of the LOS as the balls is snapped? Knock yourself out, you're gonna win the Heisman for our QB.

But yeah, I thought Lyons played well too. Homestead kid, I believe. I'm sure he was jacked up to play.

Jackson is 100.0% in the DT rotation here. But RE: the Desir kids and Lyons, I don't think any of them would play over the kids who are actually playing. The only question would be, is our rotation what it is currently because the staff doesn't trust anyone behind them? Or is it just what it is? Meaning, if Lyons and the twins were on the team, would they just be more backups who don't play, or would they actually force the coaches to expand the rotation to include them?

Either way.....it's a putrid number on that pile of **** roster who would even be considered for a uniform here. They should, and most of them are, be incredibly embarrassed that this is what they roll out there in year 6. Bobby must be rolling in his grave watching these losers desecrate his colors.

UF legit has real talent , **** they have more talent than us at a couple spots . We just have better front line talent at most spots.
Really like how we’re evaluating talent too. Look how hard we went at VB3 and Dallas. Didn’t get em, but we’re investing efforts in the right kids. And you never know, maybe that effort yields something soon when they fire Billy…

Gimme:

- Duce
- Kromah
- Pittman
- Danzy
- D Jack
- Desir Twins
- Lawayne McCoy
- Jayvan Boggs

I don't think everyone would start so I guess if that was the purpose of the thread then maybe not McCoy or Boggs, but both those guys and Desir and Kromah look like future NFL players in my opinion.

Since absolutely nobody asked....from UF:

- Lagway
- Baugh
- VB3
- Dallas Wilson of course
- Sapp
- Banks (if healthy)
- Myles Graham
- Cormani
- Jayden Woods
- LJ McCray
- Maybe Jordan Castell

Not saying I would want all those guys starting, but they could all play here for sure.
Jake Slaughter?

**** nah. They can have Homesick Jackson and Too Little. The latter curbed us twice if ya'll forgot.

Been having this conversation in a few threads and with friends, and with all this complete nonsense on Twitter about talent vs execution blah blah, I want some opinions.

Please, please, please take your orange and green glasses off for a minute. I promise you, mine are off. I’m being as objective as I possibly can.

My question is, of everyone on FSU’s roster, RIGHT NOW (meaning I think Kevin Wynn looked good against us, but he’s a true freshman and that was his first game), how many kids on that roster start and/or play rotational minutes for us? Not garbage time. A starter or a kid who is in the regular rotation. An Armondo Blount role, for example.

Here’s how I see it, I want your thoughts:

QB - LOL

RB - MAYBE Kromah, but I don’t think so right this minute. He looks like he’s going to be good, but he’s not getting much burn in this backfield right now

WR - Robinson, 100%. Probably starts. I think we’d find a role for Danzy, that speed is very appealing. That’s it.

TE - Pittman has impressed me. I think he’s better than Bauman, him and Lofton would be the TE rotation

OL - Not a chance

DL - Jackson 100%. That’s literally it. MAYBE a Desir twin? But I’m going no right now.

LB - No ******* shot

DBs - No ******* shot.

So, I count 2 for sure starters/heavy rotation kids (Duce, D. Jack), one “1B” player in Pittman. And 2 maybes (Kromah, Desir)

THATS ******* PATHETIC, MIKE!! Dear god, even in Jimbo’s heyday we had more than 2 ******* kids here who would play there. And these muppets have the audacity to chalk that game up to anything other than a MASSIVE talent disadvantage? You have 3 goddamned kids on your whole team who would get into games at Miami. But no, your talent is fine. You just didn’t execute. That’d be like me pitching to a team of 8 year old all-stars. They’re good players! They just didn’t hit the ball. Well no ****, I’m Randy Johnsoning the pill right by those little *****. They have no chance. The fact you’re not making these plays is the very definition of why you lost…because you don’t have good football players.

Anyway, thoughts? Some of you are more familiar with the roster than I am. And we all just watched them play, many of us a couple times on rewatch too. Am I missing anyone?
This assessment was why I did not have much concern pregame about a loss, other than the box marked “Unforeseen Shenanigans”.

You can’t have all the worse players and be the better team. You have to have someone at a key position who is able to overcome the overall disparity in talent. Noles have none, and the few spots they have a difference maker are relegated to skill pos who are limited by the more critical pieces.

I wouldn’t take a single player of theirs on D and swap with one of ours. I would take Jackson, because we need more DTs in the mix for depth. He isn’t starting over anyone, for me.

Robinson is the only obvious take. Pittman would be the second. I like Kromah as well, but I’m not making a trade for one of our guys.

The disparity is wild.

Agree completely. Jackson might start, but I'm not going to fight you on it. I think we both agree he'd definitely play, which really was the only point of this exercise.

But you're 100% correct. I won a nice stack of money on Miami this weekend, and I don't bet on our games very often. But I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now, and just like you said, I'm running through all this in my head and I'm saying "How in the world are we going to lose if they have 3-4 kids on their ENTIRE roster who would get burn here?" Obviously stranger things have happened, but yes, "unforeseen shenanigans" was the only way this game would be close.

This is incredibly embarrassing for them. Like I said earlier, even in their run from 2010 to 2016, they had the better teams, sometimes considerably, but we always had several kids who would at least get on the field there. They are so far behind us, talent-wise, it's insane.
