How important is the last OV?

Now I'd love to see that data drilled down further with last OV post ESD vs the February signing day to see if there is any variance at all

He mentions it's a dataset of 8,237 OVs from 2019, 2020 and 2022 recruits. Pretty large dataset they're pulling from so that's **** impressive.

But yeah great callout on the ESD vs Feb signing day.

Edit: @BostonCanes47 meant to reply to you as well.

It’s not like this is a random sample though. Teams know this and actively fight to get the last OV.

It’s more likely a kid schedules his favorite for last and a vacation visit as a first OV

Could just be a self fulfilling idea

I think there is another factor at work here as well. Some kids look at this as dating and stop looking when they find the one. Like it's not statistically significant to say I'm married to the last woman I ever dated because I stopped dating.

I would be interested to know if they are counting all commits or only commits that follow through to enrollment. Much like the analogy above, an engagement don't mean squat if they keep looking and marry someone else. If anything, it can keep you on the hook and out of the marketplace with nothing to show for it.

Some may end up being a last visit that at the time weren’t scheduled as the last.

How many kids have committed right after or during a visit when they were blown away by the school, coaches or facilities ?

We have a bunch of closers working our recruits now so I look for several to do just this on their visit….at least I hope so anyways..
