How I’d handle things going forward.

Here we’re again, on the verge of another corch getting his public execution. The administration has made this into an every 3-5 year celebration. I figured it would be a good time to post what i‘d do if I were in charge.

If you‘ve followed my posts the last couple weeks I’ve stated it’s a “ when not if” situation. So this is how i‘d do it if I’m the administration ( or anyone with sense).

1. Fire Manny this week, it’s a bye week and theres no better time. The environment is toxic and at this point he’s laying on the ground hemorrhaging In front of everyone. Plus it would give you more time to adjust to the upheaval.

2. Make T Rob the Interim head coach , the players like him and would play hard for him. The season still has something left to play for and we haven’t been eliminated from the coarstal. I think it would give guys a shot of juice. Plus imo there’s a chance he’d return here if the staff wanted him.

3. Simpson to dc , no better time than the present to see what he brings to the table as a dc. Maybe he simplifies things and we can get away from the cute stuff. It seems like the obvious choice.

4. Hand the team over to the kids , from qb on down. It’s time to start preparing for the ‘22 season. We already know what we have with the veterans. Now let’s see what the youngsters have. Imo it would be another shot of energy to a team that needs it. More competition is always a good thing and pt is always the best motivator.

5. Blake has to be fired or reassigned. I know I sound like a broken record with this but if there’s not drastic changes in the athletic department and the attitude of the program we’ll be right back here in a 3-5 years.
It’ll just be more proof the program is living in a state of insanity and will never get out.

The good news is we’ll know pretty fast , it’ll be obvious.
Alex Cribby Jones, you had me at 1. Fire Manny this week

Let's cut the bull**** and end this clown show now. It will only get more embarrassingly worse by keeping Manny until the end of the season. And I completely agree with your plan. Make TRob interim HC with Jess the DC, play the young kids, and start looking now for a permanent option.

Let's not wait until it gets ugly - and it will if we leave Manny at the helm much longer. We need to show the CFB world and recruits we have good young talent that just needs a great HC to lead them.

Fire Manny now and then Blake soon thereafter.

@Alex Jones

When Butch Davis attempted to take the Canes back from the back from the robber barons, he was brutally murdered. The message to future Canes Coaches and leaders across the world was clear: do as you're told, or die. Paul Hilton Davis JR was the last true coach of the Canes. And until the globalists are removed from power, we will never have another real one.

Can we all just stop regurgitating this statement regarding Manny’s pay???

1. Coaches that get fired mid season make the same amount of money as if they coached the full season…the fiscal year has started.

2. IF, and this is a big if, Manny’s buyout did drop down after a particular anniversary date, it’s very likely going to be in mid December thru January.

If the school has reached the decision that they are firing Manny, ain’t no way in **** they are waiting until January to save $1mm or whatever the decrease would.

You guys are like parrots sometimes I swear
Have you read manny's contract?

If not, then STFU 'cuz you have no idea when the buyout drops. It could be the anniversary of his hire date. It could be the end of the calendar year. It could be the end of the University's fiscal year. It could be the end of the regular season or the completion of a bowl game (if any). You are also guessing like the rest of us.

Either way my point stands. Fire Blake and Manny today and put in place an interim AD to conduct the search.

Good optics we share similar thoughts. DC is the only difference I can get behind either. Making Trob the interim man in charge is the key.

Below represents the best interim solution for the rest of the season until the problem can be fixed long term with our football program.

-Go ahead and fire Manny and Blake now, so that we can begin a thorough search for the next AD 1st and head coach by the bowl season. (At least fire Manny now even if they are considering reassigning Blake or just holding on to him until the for whatever silly reason). Manny has lost all support in the players, recruits, fan base, boosters, and alumni, so need to prolong the inevitable. The administration has to realize when you find yourself in a hole, you must stop digging and keeping Manny and Blake represent constant digging in a hole at this point.

- Name TROB interim head coach. Why because recruiting is the lifeline of any good programs outside of an exceptional coach who can scheme and is brilliant at X and O's. No one else on the staff has HC experience and to make the best of what we can with recruiting until the next HC is named TROB is the best recruiter on staff and is probably the most likely to be retained by the next head coach. This allows TROB to continue to recruit at a high level as the interim face/figure head of the program and show why he needs to remain on staff for the next HC. It also allows him to see if he can help turn around the culture problem with the remaining schedule, since he has a lot of previous SEC experience, relates well to players, and is from South Florida.

- Bring Shoop on field and name him as DC. Of the coaches with DC experience (Shoop and TROB), Shoop is probably the most proven and has coordinated better defensive units in the past. Shoop can coach safeties and DVD can coach corners with TROB assisting both when needed from his interim HC positoin. This will also answer some questions for us and the next staff: like was Manny's scheme a serious problem assuming some of Shoop's philosophies are different ex. more press bump and run etc, who are the players that are currently on the team that can excel in the scheme, are we running the right scheme, it allows the next head coach to evaluate the coaches we currently have on the defensive staff to see if they can improve our defensive deficiencies with their won fixes. (it gives a glimpse for say someone like Mario for example to see if the 4-2-5 can excel with what we have versus brining the 3-4 with him from Oregon or playing a 3-3-5). If Shoop and TROB can show they can fix the defense, then consider them for CO-DC positions if it makes sense, if it doesn't then move on.

- For the offensive side of the ball Lashlee has the rest of the season to prove Manny was hindering him from being an effective OC. (which I personally believe was not the case and that the offense has been all Lashlee). If can not improve on the slow offensive starts, lack of diversity in the run game, lack of rhythm with playcalling, and low percentage of scoring TDs in the redzone then his resume is what it is. The new HC can decide who to keep or not keep from the offensive staff outside of Lashlee.

In my opinion this is how we should move forward and get some ground truth answers on what some of our problems were under Manny and arm the next HC and AD with these answers as well.

Blake is not firing Manny. That would seal his fate.
Yep Blake has painted himself into a corner. If he fires Manny, he’s essentially admitting that he screwed the pooch.

If there is pressure coming from above to fire Manny and he resists or blatantly disregards then he’s opening himself up to get axed

Soon.

Tin foil hat attempt at being optimistic and unnecessarily paranoid: what happens if TRob is successful during the remainder of the season and we get a coaching controversy?? Lol

Blake just crosses out Manny’s name in the contract and writes in “T-Rob” and let’s him finish it out
