There’s a chance he will be good.

Thanks Confucius
Chantz alongside LT probably made the most impact plays last year !I don't get the need for some to write the kid off like he's a failure. Technically none of our defenders excelled in Mannies defense. The entire defensive roster needed upgrading and depth, not because of Chantz, but poor recruiting and development by previous staff. Chantz like every defensive player on the roster will need to show their development under better coaching and scheme.
One can take any bamboo skewer and break it easily.
But that same bamboo skewer, bundled with several others - good luck trying to break THEM.
Each adds his strength to the bundle.
And that bundle is tough to break. Real tough.
Exactly i hear those excuses for the LBs and DTs but for edge rushers? Nah they got plenty of pass rushing reps, last year mccloud after working at lb for 4 years was our best pass rusher. Even the Tennessee kid had better reps than chantz and harvey, they just didn’t end in sacks but he got some pressures late in the yearI will never write off a player, but to people pointing at the scheme and coaching of these 2 as a possible reason for them not living up to expectations...don't forget the undisputed absolute strength of Manny's entire tenure here...a disruptive as fck pass rusher in every single year until the talent didn't get replaced for 2022. If they were the goods, they wouldn't have taken snaps behind McCloud. Wouldn't surprise me if they blossomed, but as far as a pass rusher under Manny, they can't blame the staff.
Never heard this before but I love it. Great post. Definitely stealing this wise post. LolOne can take any bamboo skewer and break it easily.

I know he’s super strong so what he needs to be doing more of is things that can make him less stiff and more pliable that will help him be a better edge. He’s got plenty strength just needs more bendView attachment 195305 View attachment 195308
Chantz hasn't had that breakout performance we were all expecting. But he was #85 overall recruit in the country in the 2020 class. #7 WDE.
Lest we forget, Harvey was #210 overall and #12 WDE the year before. What can Steele and Salave'a make of these two that Manny and Stroud/Simpson couldn't?

This is where I'm at too. I think Chantz ends up a rotational player but everyone should have a fresh start with this new regime.I've said from day one, there's going to be a lot of players that surprise some people, even some that people have written off. Competent coaching will do that for you. Who knows, maybe he'll be one of those guys I'm talking about.
