How good was our defense in 2018? Yet...

I’m infuriated Willis has fallen this much. Ridiculous! Something is wrong with this picture.

Valid points. However, Defense is not as good as their ranking suggests.

You have to take this same stance with teams like Michigan who got beat badly on D when they played teams offensively with a pulse. Can’t just do that to Miami

It applies to every team. However, I know what a true dominating Defense looks like. L$U, BC, Wisconsin and I’ll throw in GT, won’t do that to those elite Miami Defense’s. Our Offense and Punter were terrible but so was our schedule.
 
Our players or program arent held in very high esteem right now.

GMs know they can wait til later to get any of our guys.

I was at the game, were you?

LSU had 6 possessions on offense and scored 4 times in the first half. One of the possessions they ran out the clock to end the half. Defense gave up 20 points in the first half, game was over there

I was at the game. Where did they start on those possessions?

Defense wasn’t great, but it didn’t lose us the game. As everybody that was at the stadium said. Not a single person I talked to, that was there, mentioned defense as the primary problem. Not that anybody was saying it was great either.

It was horrible special teams, not flipping the field - their offense starting near or past the 50on several drives, and inept offense. After all that, then it was defense. Look at their QB stats. Yes we gave up a bad long run which I attribute to a substitution mixup.

You didn’t notice any of that?

Or did you just look at the final score?

Willis not getting drafted has nothing to do w his agent guysms

Agents have nothing to do w anything at all but players sign away hundreds of thousands to them for .... apparently nothing guysms

You guysms must’ve thought Homer was a first rounder dumb guysms

Go back and look at the drive charts in that game. The first half Miami's offense and punter had direct correlation to what was going on. The defense may not have been elite but it was **** near it. Even against Wisconsin it was 14-3 going into the 4th quarter I believe. Without JJ and Willis. The offense and punter were an exact replica of the LSU game. Defense was **** good all year. Boston College was their worst game especially in the first half but again, the offense was pitiful again as well. The defense always had to stand on its head and probably had to score TDs themselves as well

TD: 6 plays 72 yards
TD: 11 plays 58 yards
FgG 6 plays 53 yards

Don't want to count the first FG that is still 170+ yards given up in the 1st half on 3 scoring drives

Sure, not a great half. Maybe though if the offense puts together at least a drive or 2, could have helped. Defense was **** good. Giving up a 50yd TD run was the crusher
