How good was our defense in 2018? Yet...

LSU punted the same amount of times we did, and had less total yards . We also had 8 TFLs and 2 sacks , slightly under our season average but not a lot fewer . Again , our offense and special teams killed us that game. Period . It’s really like some of yal didn’t even watch that game at all
I was at the game so yes I did watch it! It was 27-3 at the half and LSU went vanilla in the second half. Our defense was good but the #4 ranking is misleading as we didn’t play a true top offense all season. OU, Clemson, Bama and the rest would have had there way with us. **** Whisky went up and down the field in case you didn’t watch the game. I know dominant defenses, saw them up close for a decade, 1983-1992. Watch some of those squads and you’ll see what great TEAM defense was all about. TFLs and sacks can be misleading especially when you look at our schedule last year.

Spot on...

Chiefs take a DT in rd 3 from western Illinois

Willis’s agent forget to sign him up for draft?

I honestly have no idea who the agent or agency is he signed with. However, this makes zero sense. Whoever drafts Willis at this point, is getting a steal. He either had a terrible combine, isn’t being sold properly or the perception of Miami’s Defense is really negative. Either way, I would be alarmed if I were Willis.

Johnson is another one who I think could have been sold to go in the 2nd round with the right agent. Jackson and Homer doesn’t surprise me at all they fell this far.

I advise You to do this thorough analysis with bama, they let mediocre passing attacks carve them up last year, Miami didn’t let that happen at all no matter who they played. FSU had a top 30 passing attacks last year do you know what Francois did vs Miami? Less than 50% 130 yards and an 2tds int. We had our outlier games vs Boston college and Wisconsin but verse everyone else they did very well. Quit trying to sh*t on the team all the **** time. Look around and in every game for these top defenses, they had games where they looked like sh*t too. And lol if you think any of these top defenses play great offenses every game foh with that bullhs*t... **** look at Michigan they dominated against everyone they played until they played offenses with firepower like Ohio state and to a much lesser extent uf and what happened to their “elite” defense yet we don’t hear nobody try and discredit what they have done. Sick of you “Miami” fans

This. I am not sold on Diaz yet because of this and his recruiting (or lack thereof) ability. A legit top 10 D doesn’t get its **** pushed in by Boston College either.

Last 2 years a number of the games we have struggled the most where against dominant offensive lines outside of the Notre Dame game in 2017. Wisconsin 2017, bc 2018 and Wisconsin 2018 come to mind. That no doubt has got to change

Yal that keep saying the D was overrated need to stop listening to your SEC friends ... defense performed very well ESPECIALLY considering the bad spots it was put in by the offense and special teams over and over again . Don’t underestimate the effect of playing comfortably or with a lead , something this defense wasn’t able to do often because of the O

Wisconsin to me is an outlier with all the noise around the program about ppl wanting Richt gone, ****** offense shtting on the defense all year, combined with Diaz leaving , them boys ain’t care about no physical cold *** game in NYC . LSU outside of that 75 yard run they really didn’t do much against our D, again, offense and special teams killed us

We can argue competition all day but the same South Carolina that put up 30 points in 3 quarters at the Swamp on Florida was shut down 28-0 by Virginia in their bowl game . 0. So to me it’s not as cut an dry as , oh it’s cuz we play weaker competition
This. All day.

Lsu scored 2 tds on offense. 2.

Son was been going to UM games before you were born and again I know what a great team defense is all about. If I hurt your feelings by posting some facts, learn to deal with reality. We played an awful schedule and our defense put up some decent INDIVIDUAL #s. So if TFLs and sacks make you happy, keep shaking your orange and green Pom Poms. I remembe the days of AAs Outland Trophy winners, and future HOFs all over the OB. Our great defense of 2018 hasn’t had a guy drafted.

This just goes to say why you shouldn’t leave if your not a guaranteed day one pick. JJ might as well had stayed and better his game and been a 1-3 rounder instead of a 4th-7th rounder.
Okay Saban.

I totally disagree with this. U are just as likely to come back and drop your stock and/or get injured as u are to come back and improve your stock. U never know the reasons these kids leave a year early and take the money. Majority of the time they are doing what is best for their family.

It's funny how everyone says college football athletes should be get paid for their services, then when they leave to get paid, everyone complains and say they should stay one more year and work for free. That's hypocritical. I will never say a player should return to a place where he is making other people millionaires while not making anything for himself.

I loved Miami’s Defense last year. I felt the LB’s and and Joe Jackson could have had a better year.

The fact that the D had those numbers without an elite nfl prospect is a lot more impressive than doing it w AAs everywhere. That’s sign of good coaching.

And L$U went beyond Vanilla in the second half!

The schedule was awful and we did not win a game all year against a true quality opponent. That being said, Manny deserves a chance. He’s now driving the bus, hopefully we make some strides.

Look at Corn, had his best year when Manny got here. Chad started to show out when Manny got here. The scheme we run brings the best out of our players.

Regardless though, GW is a **** of a talent and is a steal this late in the draft. He would have put up the numbers he did this year in almost any scheme.
So you weren’t one of those screaming that dito and Golden’s scheme was holding out guys back? Lol..but fr I agree with you to an extent, but chad was a 5star player. Corn was a 4star player. I don’t agree tho that Willis would’ve put those numbers up in any scheme. We ask our interior DLine to do one thing, and that’s one gap and get up field. Not all schemes are that simplified. Gwill was the best DT in CFB this year in my opinion when it came to production. But was he the best NFL prospect, even when you take the red flags away if say no. Remember, college production doesn’t automatically lead to league success also. He needs the right scheme fit and team. If he gets that he’ll be a steal
