How good are the Noles in the trenches?

Virginia will hand around with them they can score and I don’t believe in fsu front 7

Reminds me of Houston years ago, putting up big numbers against inferior teams. If his O was so great, he'd have won multiple titles. It's not. It's smoke and mirrors. Alabama was caught napping. Miami won't be.
 
I hope they kill UVA and get some rat poisoning.

I can't imagine their trenches are very good. Castrllanos is their whole offense. Every single one of their OL starters is a portal guy. On DL, they have DJax, who we all know, and Lyons who was an underwhelming sofla recruit.

I can envision a game where our OL leans on them all game long with body blows and wears them out in the 4th qtr. As for their OL, I'm more concerned with Tommy C and broken plays then I am with whatever their OL can do against us.

FSU should be an Ahmad Moten special. Get across the LOS and clog the pulling lanes. That's your only job.

Their OL has an average age of 37. It’s a more solid group than many are mentioning. Tons of starts between the [transfer] players. Left side is strong. That and their scheme are their strengths. Luckily, we can match their strength with our strength (DL). So, let’s see wtf is what.

They will 💯 play the same 2 high safety’s and Carson needs to be surgical with his throws. It sure would be nice for Dawson to scheme up some different looks.

Gotta set the edge on defense. Make them run up the middle and contain their screen passes. Norvell loved those in the past. Think Gus will bring some of those back.
 
Week 5 is the most upset-heavy week in CFB cause it’s going from Non-Con play to Conference play.

FSU can get upset by UVA. UVA pass game vs FSU pass defense will be the most important thing for us to see imo.
 
We should have a clear advantage on both sides of the ball. Particularly pass blocking; mediocre pass rush grades against fairly weak completion.
 
If the Center does not cause so many penalties, that Florida game never gets as close as it got. His penalties stalled drives. That and the SEC official channeling his inner Terry Porter.
 
Veteran OL, but as long as we bring our A game, there isn’t an OL in the country that can neutralize this group. Their success will have to be outside, quick game, screens etc. They aren’t running in between the tackles on us.

Their defensive front is food, we will have over 4+/clip easily.

One thing I would add is that they had more experience coming back last year, and were touted as a great OL coming into 2024 because they had so many starts. They sucked evidently, so I don’t think the starts metric is always great.

However, Castellanos (like Jordan Travis before him) help a lot to mask OL issues. I think they’re better than last year by a lot, but that we still have a big advantage in the trenches.

I get what you're saying, but UF had a very experienced line as well. And a step further, they were returning starters for UF across the board I believe. Not saying that guarantees we dominate in the same fashion of course

Amount of starts is pretty meaningless to me especially with transfers from weaker programs. As a whole it is not a particularly strong group and they scheme around it.

Their RT especially is going to get abused all game long.
 
I know one thing Darrel Jackson is big for nothing he was getting moved easily in our game last year
