People saying Williams is the worst we’ve ever had are reaching. His arm talent accuracy wise is elite, his DECISION MAKING is what’s terrible. Case in point about the accuracy... he threw two corner routes yesterday in TIGHT cover 2 windows to the boundary side of the field that not many guys in the league could complete. One to Mallory which was impressive but the one to JT4 on 4th and short was eye popping!
When you have a freshman kid who’s obvious weakness is decision making, as a coach, you take those decisions out of his hand! ENOS is the problem guys, plain and simple. His scheme, adjustments and playcalling are all inept. Start with the first 4th and 1 where he brings a jet across the field, leaving two defensive boundary players unblocked and tries to outrun them all with Jarren Williams! Lol man if you want to get to the outside there’s millions of ways to do it, but not JW! Then the other 4th and one this cat does the basic playaction fullback to the flats play and of course a Butch Davis defense is prepared for that. We run the ball so well vs teams, all it takes is one carry of 2 yards or less and he’s passing the next down! He’s bad guys, and doesn’t put williams in good situations. Very predictable by formations also. His rpo slant play comes from the same formation EVERYTIME. If we line up with our receivers tight, it’s a smash concept pass EVERYTIME. So many other small details. He belongs in high school. Dude is atrocious.
You can disagree about Williams ability all you want, but arm talent is not the issue. Confidence in mobility and decision making are, so we need a coach to tailor around the mobility issue and take away certain aspects of his decisions. Enos isn’t the answer
