How does the staff recruit the four RBs?

Let's just go into this with the thought that Scarlett will commit to the Canes in the near future, my question for you all is about strategy. How does the staff go about recruiting all four of these guys to sign on the dotted line come next NSD?

Are we pitching each of them a different role in the offense based on their skills (like Williams as a slot guy), and do you think selling an obvious timeshare is something they like hearing? Do you think that we're actually recruiting one of these guys (I'd guess Cronk) with an understanding that he may switch positions? Do you think that the staff is telling each of them that one of the other four may be on the way out, so don't worry about PT? Are we recruiting them by sending them photoshops of their heads onto pictures of the Four Horsemen (your call on whether its the Biblical ones or the wrestlers)?

What's the play here? How do we get all of these guys to stick?

Dexter and JC are athletes. Scarlett and Walton are true Backs. These kids are getting smart because running backs shelf life is 3-5 years in the NFL and the SEC defenses are killing the running backs before they get to the NFL.

I think this is the spin: Cronk and Scarlett as "Thunder and Lightning" with Williams as a slot hybrid and make sure they know that Walton is still a longshot to re-classify...and if he does, he is the definite redshirt.

Best part about this spin is that it actually might be true. Hopefully they all understand that.

Unfortunately we won't be getting Williams anyway so this doesn't matter. Scarlett, Cronk and hopefully Walton is the class. And I am not so sure the Scarlett drama is over yet.

My issue with bringing in 3 backs is a potential class separation problem.

Unless their is an implosion on this team or Tennessee or USC win Dexter over. I see him sticking, especially with the last few recent updates and interviews on him. Just like any other recruit, wants to see his options.

we won't be keeping Williams unfortunately, we NEED to keep Cronk not only is he a beast but he will play a big part with Irvin and Johnson. Walton won't be going anywhere but Miami and if Bruce commits next week Scarlett will follow.

i dont think Walton will be able to "reclassify" or whatever...so it in my opinion will be 3 backs.....One should be able to redshirt or play to redshirt...and i think they are already selling Williams in a hybrid role.

How honest is the staff with them? I personally don't see all 4 (or 3) not redshirting. That will separate the class a little and allow more playing time over the years for all. Just not sure any of them would buy that line...although it would be a fairly honest assumption.

It's all a guessing game.

I think Walton is a better back than both Scarlett and Cronkrite.

I see Dexter as an elite prospect, Walton as a great prospect, and Scarlett/Cronkrite as good prospects.

Dexter/Cronkrite being the better athletes being able to play multi spots, Walton being an every down back, and Scarlett being a 2 down/short yardage/goal line back.

This, people forget that we do need 3 more horses in the stable. After this year its probably just Yearby and Gus who is serviceable but great. Lots of carries to go around here.....

Right now, not back in February. All I see now is Joker is out and most of that staff might not be there next year, and then there is the 247/rivals/scout staff complementing Miami for there new commits every 5 seconds, yes people think Miami right now, is a hotter team then Florida at the moment.

CJ Worton was a low priority for Miami until late in the process when they pushed for a visit. Same for Treon Harris at his desired position. Brandon Powell got spooked by admissions it seems and Quarterman, Allison, Mullins and Pinckney disagree with Gardner. Naming those guys is pathetic. At least use guys they clearly fought a long time for. I'm not even sure what 5-6 months ago has to do with whats happening now anyway.
