"At the end of the day, I took the job without knowing that there was an impending NCAA investigation and eight months into it, it blew up and it took its toll at the end of the day, and that's it," Golden told the Free Press. "I haven't looked back since. I miss the players. I miss the people that were supportive of my family and I, the people that were friends. But other than that we've moved on and now I'm looking after a new group."

Golden said he was "burned out" by the job at Miami, where he struggled through four-plus seasons before being fired following a blowout loss to Clemson last season.

"I don't want to rehash that," Golden told the Detroit News about the end of his Miami tenure. "The way I look at it is it already took too much of my life, so I moved on."

Exactly why you don't hire coaches from Temple where the demand isn't nearly at the same level.

Good stuff and timely too!
Keep us updated on the Lunar Landings too!

Well Miami can be blamed for hiring Al Golden. That hiring lead to Miami's downfall

I can't say I disagree with him.

So Coker and Shannon didn't have us on the way down? The shutout to end the OB wasn't part of it? Shalalalalalalala and her merry band of a$$holes started it, way before Goldielocks ever got here. Goldie was just supposed to be the nail in the coffin.

ironically, I think Golden says it best in that same article.

"I don't want to rehash that," "The way I look at it is it already took too much of my life, so I moved on."

That pretty well sums up my thoughts on his tenure at Miami.

He sounds exactly like Hillary Clinton blaming Putin for illegal, immoral and scandalous emails that she sent.

Al was just over his head coaching kids below the Mason Dixon Line.. He was however rewarded with a job in, You're kidding me, Detroit...

That dead horse stinks bad enough without continuing to beat it.

I've erased the previous coach from my memory. All that lingers is a fading bad smell.

The NCAA issues had nothing to do with the absolutely horrific coaching staff he hired and the schemes they used. It may have impacted some recruiting aspects, but he was no more proficient at that than coaching evaluations. The guy was an a## clown and had no business at UM. Just a bad, bad hire.

Yes, the NCAA situation clearly was the cause for not knowing clock management or the choice of defensive scheme. **** them. **** those top in acc coastal recruiting classes despite the sanctions.
