How close is Silvera to returning

Is he out for the year? We need a disruptive, impact DT....

What makes you think Nesta is any of those things or any better than what’s already playing? Nesta hasn’t proven anything and I sure as **** haven’t heard anything about him putting in the work to become a great player. Sure, he’s got a nasty attitude, but that doesn’t mean ****.

Nests strikes me as just another one of these SF divas who thinks he’s better than he is and can get by on talent alone. Until proven otherwise, that’s all he’ll be.

@brock what’s dumb about this post? What has Nesta shown to indicate he is any different than most of the SF talent that has come thru this program for the last 15 years? All bark and no bite until proven otherwise. Also, in looking at him physically, it sure doesn’t look like he took S&C seriously this offseason.

Writing guys off before they haven’t even played much yet is ridiculous.

I haven’t written him off. Never said that. Simply stating that nobody should be heaping praise on him until he’s actually done something. I think that’s a major part of the problem in SF and at Miami. Everybody heaps praise on these kids before they deserve it.

We should revoke his scholarship already.

Nobody said that. I’m rooting for the kid, but he hasn’t exactly shown on the field or off the field that he’s a dude. Until then, nobody should be heaping praise on a kid who has already shown a penchant for letting his own head get too big.

Nobody should be automatically assuming he's an overrated diva either, but that hasn't stopped you.

He’s shown more that he’s an overrated diva than anything else. His recruitment. His undisciplined play. His well documented penchant for not being very coachable. The complete lack of any indication that he was busting his *** during the offseason.

I’m not just singling our Nesta either. This is endemic to this team in general. It’s a culture problem that’s existed for 15+ years through 4 coaching staffs, maybe 5 if Manny can’t get it figured out.

But hyping them and thinking they will break the door before or after crap displays is not the same?

These kids are nothing until they’ve done something. Am I rooting for him? **** yes. I love his nasty attitude. I love his God given talent. But he’s not going to help this program on talent and nasty attitude alone. I’m fact, he’ll probably do the exact opposite. His work ethic and willingness to take coaching has to match his talent and nasty attitude.
