How close did Davis come to a show cause order from the NCAA

There was a lot going on at UNC during Butch's tenure, players taking impermissible benefits, Butch's bagman John Blake cohorting with an agent and academic fraud as well. Is Davis dirty?

There was worse crap going on with their bball players which swept under the rug
 
Didn't UNC get in trouble after too? They seem to get caught a lot but nothing that bad seems to happen (that I can remember).

Three investigations as I recall - even from the Governor's office - and Butch was clean.

All that crap that happened had been going on for 'decades' before Butch got there - mostly for the basketball team - crip courses especially, and later the administration clearly stated Butch Davis was clean.

like Paul Harvey used to say ... here's the rest of the story --. an investigation discovered evidence that the admin ******* who first pointed a finger at Butch and scapegoated him to take any light off his sorry *** was guilty and he was fired. can't think of his name offhand.
 
Butch Davis has a letter from the NCAA clearing and absolving him of any involvement with the debacle that UNC was perpetrating.
