How can you blame coaches when theres zero talent?

It is truly a remarkable thing to see people who I assume are mentally functional, claim at the same time:

1. Diaz was the worst coach ever who couldn't recruit talent, but the talent was still good enough to overcome his corching to finish 7-5, which included a road win over a team that went 11-2 and won the ACC. Pitt finished the season ranked higher than Clemson. If Diaz had beaten Clemson on road, there would be a contingent of fans that would claim it was a win over a mediocre opponent.

2. Cristobal is a superior coach who inherited talent that wasn't good enough to beat MTSU at home.

Yes statistically they are a better football team. Mario didnt have to play this years usc and ucla.

Take a minute and read the Oregon boards. But apparently you know more than them.

The only statistic that matters is wins and losses. Their fans aren't happy that they blew a spot in the P12CG.

But no one says this. No one thinks we had less talent than MTSU. What most rational people know is that "talent" is just about worthless if it isn't trying and doesn't care.

They tried and cared enough to beat the ACC champs on the road, a team that finished the season ranked higher than Clemson. What happened? You going to say Pitt didn't care about the game?

This has been explained ad nauseam, but no one bothers to learn anything new around here. Last year's team lived in a country club. Cool, they cared enough to win 7 games. Many players on this year's team has no interest in playing for a guy who has expectations.

Your theory is actually more bizarre. You absolutely believe that our players were out there giving it their all and that MTSU just outschemed us.

If wins matter like you say then what does this season say about mario?

I agree wins matter. Losses happen. This years oregon team would beat last years. Same as last years miami would beat this years miami.

It says that Mario inherited a terrible roster that doesn't want to work hard. So they quit. I'll take the guy who took his own roster into Columbus and won, thank you.

1 game in his entire career. Weird but ok.

Ill take the coach that scores more points.

Actually, I have mentioned 10- and 12-win seasons, not just one game. But that's how you twist the argument.

You'll take the coach that scores more points but wins fewer games. Not many people agree with that.

Also took a program that went 11-14 in the 2 years before he took over and won a Rose Bowl in Year 2.

I can't defend anything that I witnessed this year, but I'm not ready to say that a guy who took a sub .500 program and in 2 years won a Rose Bowl is completely incompetent and unable to coach in any capacity. I've seen him do it. You don't take an 11-14 team and win the Rose Bowl by mistake.

"Mario went 10-2 and beat Ohio State."

"SO WHAT!! LANNING SCORES MORE POINTS!!"
