How can you blame coaches when theres zero talent?

Games arent won with recruiting classes buddy.

We had mark pope playing wr with us who couldnt even start on an fcs team. He was a 4 star.

Our best wr was a 3 star juco.

The talent is exaggerated. We all have a bunch of south florida busts.
Lmao so we just so happened to choose all 4 star busts each class? Nah fam! Zero chance that is possible since we have like 55 blue chip guys! Culture, coaching and development is what is lacking.

Way too soon. We need somebody to play with while we wait on Mario.

Nick saban would do absolutely nothing with this team. Im confident of it.

The fact that manny diaz, a defensive coach, failed to recruit any lbs is criminal.

We were trotting out ryan ragone.
Keontra smith a fat safety. Flag. None of these players even stsrt on an FCS team. Im not exaggerating.

Harvey sucks as well. Hes made like 1 play his entire career here. Total jag.

There is zero talent on this team. Very few players. No depth. You cannot win without depth.

How can you blame josh gattis when the stsrting qb is jake garcia who is downright awful. And a qb in brown who cannot throw a 5 yard slant?

And it all starts upfront. But this is the worst collection if offensive linemen weve ever hadm. Ever. They are all horrible. Every single one of them would not start on another d1 team.

Knighton is nothing more than a 180lb change of pace back. Thats it. Stop trying to make him into something hes not. Parrish is just solid. We have no physical rbs, **** i would love to have cam harris back. We have little chicken running backs.

I did love what i saw from b.smith after the tamu. He must've put a ton of work in after that game. He really came on at the end of the year.

You guys keep blaming coaches when the qbs are high school level and no one is blocking.

Theres no talent on this team plain and simple.

Manny diaz recruiting was the worst in miami history.
Wow!!! Just wow! This dude is in here defending Gattis! Holy ****!!! GTFOH. You did manage to put some facts in here (bolded), so you won't get dragged too much. But c'mon man.... not enough talent on the team to beat MTSU? Not enough talent to put up 100 yds. of TOTAL offense vs. Clemson, and not enough talent to avoid being embarrassed by vs. FSU.....,at home? Bruh Gattis is straight ***! I've been around and seen enough football to recognize coaching.... whether a team is 12-0, or 2-10, I know what coaching looks like, and I know what a lack of talent looks like. His playbook is ***, his play calling is ***, as is nothing in his "scheme" is used to set up anything else. No adjustments. No motion, no screen game to think of except for the little WR quick screen that he runs for time to time. His "flea flicker" game is on point tho, LOL. His feel for the game is straight ***. He can't even beat a basic blitz. That's why the fucc we keep seeing them, game after game. Mr. Gattis, I'm sorry, but your son is just not good.

It doesn't go one way but not the other. If Mirabal is this savant at coaching OL, then why hasn't he been able to at show a respectable OL even with overrated 3 and 4 star recruits. Same with Strong and Steele who have been very good elsewhere, even with limited talent they should be able to coach them up that we aren't looking like a 1-aa against the likes of FSU, Duke, Pitt and Clemson. Can't it be that we just have a mismatched staff here that doesn't mesh with the scheme to talent level and coaches coaching to that particular scheme?

Gattis doesn‘t deserve a defense. Talent or no talent you play to your strengths. He never did that once while he was here hence why we literally can’t move the football.

You have a talented 6’5 WR. Did he ever scheme him open? No.

You have multiple talented TEs. Did you scheme any one of them open other than Mallory? No.

You had team that excelled in space and pace last year. Did you call your O in a up tempo pace? No.

All that right there are strengths. Not one were taken advantage of.
How many times did we hear this past off season about how the TE's were going to "eat" in Gutless's offense? The reality was that they all went hungry until Mallory started on his trademark late season tear.

There's definitely some value in what you said, but a less-stubborn offensive coordinator could've done more than field the worse offense in the modern history of University of Miami football (sans the Kirby Freeman / NC State era.)

Gattis chose to keep running "his" offense instead of an offense that worked for the personnel he had. Once this thing wasn't working (say around MTSU weekend)—it'd have been a good time to pull some plays from Lashlee's book that TVD did well last year and dumb things down for the sake of scoring points.

The fact the man's mindset was to force-feed his offense come **** or high water—points and yards be damned—was a pretty bad look.

Fully agree the depth-deprived roster isn't anything close to what some fans think it is and there are too many people who think Miami should just arbitrarily be better, because "we're Miami"—despite 20 years of incompetence and irrelevance—but Gattis could've at least gotten a smidge more out of this talent than the horrendous offensive production we saw.

Exactly. Something stinks in the South Florida waters for a lot of these overhyped kids. The best ones are leaving for Tuscaloosa and Athens and we're getting the overrated scrubs that Saban and Smart already picked through.

It's the "Moneyball" theory; if he's a good hitter why isn't he hitting good? If these are super-star Florida athletes, how come they've played like inconsistent scrubs for years. Sure, some is "coaching" but there area slew of slugs out there who simply don't have any grit or desire and would rather post losing photos to the 'Gram while posing with rental cars under gas station lights.

As a laymen watching football most of my adult life the difference I saw this season was coaching. The team looked unprepared and uninspired then to top it off the play calling was simply terrible. All those things to me are coaching related. We could have been terrible with terrible players but if the coaching was good you'd see it on the field. This season we simply looked poorly coached.
