How big a Recruiting improvement will we see

I heard he's in more of an Ops role, although he's technically replacing DVD. The DB recruiting should be better because of TRob and DVD.

I wouldn't be surprised if DVD takes on a larger recruiting role than other position coaches, similar to Field.

Not to sh*t on the DVD hire. But if his biggest pull to date was *almost landing Fred Davis. He doesn't deserve the job.

Not to mention, He had the best physical tools I've seen a DB have here at Miami and couldn't put it together for us or in the NFL. He doesn't deserve the job.

1. Do you know his actual role, activities, and accomplishments in his current position?
2. I have no idea how your second sentence applies at all.

So, it appears you actually and deliberately do **** on DVD.

Do you? Because whatever they are they aren't good enough to qualify him to be on the staff at a big time program like Miami.
He wasn't able to learn the skills needed to succeed in the league yet he's going to be able to teach them?

This is a spot filler to save money. Colour it however you want.

I have no problem ****ting on the hire. The man has never coached before, anywhere. Ever. And now his first job is at UM.

That tells us everything we need to know about how few ***** the BOT of this school gives about its football program.

And by the way, Baker is STILL THE DC. It says so right in the press release. He's not being demoted, he's just not calling plays on gameday. Is that going to fix the million other problems we had on defense, like not tackling, for example?

You realize he is the CB coach. T-Rob is the DB coach. He's pretty much a recruiter with more access to recruiting abilities and can learn under one of the most experienced DB coaches in the country.

My memory was short when Jess was here, I like him as DL coach, how do we feel about his recruiting? Because I know he’s the man in a Georgia, but he doesn’t have to go north of West Palm for our ‘22 DL class.

Shouldn't be learning on the job in Miami. If we had unlimited coaching slots, then fine. But wasting an on-field spot on someone who has never coached before is amateur as ****.

Honestly don't even know why I'm ****ed. This move is so typical Miami..... I saw it coming..... posted weeks ago that there wasn't going to be any changes made because Miami is so predictable.... yet here we go.

I mean, good luck to DVD I guess. But I'm not sold even a little bit.

its for RECRUITING. It's like when Alabama hires a RB coach who's pretty much a bagman

With him being the man all he got out of Georgia his year here was Holley
His recruiting is very questionable
This was not the year to go with an unproven dline recruiter

Agreed. This isn’t happening at Bama, UF, OSU, OU, ****, even FSU! We got scared of losing DVD and made him a priority to promote so that we don’t lose him? Perhaps he should cut his teeth somewhere else and come back when he is ready. This is how you solve the “incest coaching tree” problem where Manny does not have any contacts to fix the D issue by getting a quality DC. He doesn’t know anyone and comes off as a cheap salesman to those in the business that worry that hitching their ride to him will end in disaster. And don’t give me this T-Rob will make him better. While this may be the case, no one knows, not even Manny. So what follow the amateur hour script? I like DVD, but I don’t like him being THE CB Coach right now. Hopefully I eat my words next season.

Nick Saban never played in the NFL. Think about that.
