How about some love for O-LINE.

I know it's ****ed up but I kind of agree. We're already playing for the future and continuity at OL and while Donaldson may be a better option now let Campbell take his lumps like the rest of the group. Donaldson has been very disappointing.
Someone needs to have a sit down with Donaldson that he needs to take the S&C program seriously this offseason or he won't be playing on Sunday

they had two tough tests the past 2 weeks and did pretty well. FSUs overall D hasnt been good, but they still had talent along that DL. we just wanted to see improvements and it seems like we are.

They have definitely progressed. I was surprised at how much time Williams had for most of the game. I hope to see more progression against Louisville. Tired of losing to those clowns.

“They absolutely are (coming together),” Diaz said. “They went to Florida State, they sacked (Syracuse) nine times the game before. You have four of the five that are sophomores or freshman. On the two post touchdowns Jarren could have eaten a sandwich before he threw the ball out there.”

Pitt was leading the nation in sacks. FSU had 7 sacks game before us. Run blocking needs improvement but pass blocking good last two weeks

I said all along that this coach needs time. He is probably reteaching these guys all new techniques. These players need time to adjust.

Pass protection has improved by 100 % . Run blocking has improved by 0%.

How much better will Jarren be when teams have to respect the run game??

Good post OP, but I'm gonna hold back my judgement for a couple more games.

The worst of it is over. We wont face a DL as good as FSU or Pitts down the stretch. This should be the time where our OL really shines and comes into its own. UL leading sack guy has a pathetic 4 on the season. Duke as well doesn't have a good DL to speak of. We should really hit our stride against all 3 DLs we face to end the season.

Going from several threads per week of criticism to zero....... is a sure fire indicator of progress

That unit was THE difference in the game. Zero doubt about it.

I guess so. The D had 9 sacks and 16 TFL's.

There was zero doubt who the more physical and talented team was in this game. That was a great sign. Both teams struggling this year but could tell Miami overmatched them in about every facet.
If we can play with this intensity more often, watch out. We had this type of pop in the opening game as well but the Oline couldn't hold up, plus blunders in FG kicking and muffed punt.

Protection was impressive Noles came at us hard up front they thru every stunt known at our young group , JW long passes had nice pock to step up into. The fruits of keeping this line together was critical forming / grooming a formidable front.

Having them all bleed together in the same mud of growing pains and battling is now showing confidence as a unit , I look forward to next year making a serious run a ACCC yes it includes Clemson.

Good job O-LINE.

GOCANES

That's coaching.

Wow only ten likes ??? This is blasphemy! GOOD POST OP! @GOCANES05

If they would of played like crap this prob would have 10 pages by now. Our sugar CANE fan base mannn !

Go CANES!
The phans are ****ed when we win so they dont comeback to the site when we win

Well said. I didn't mean to be dismissive of the D, they were unreal on Saturday! The D dominated that game. But the biggest change, IMO, from the FSU game vs all the other games of our season was how much time we gave our QB. Jarren had time to throw all game and as a result was making the right reads, hitting guys in stride, dropping dimes on long balls (something we haven't seen from him all season), etc.

No question this was one component that was desperately needed for this offense to start rolling. Crazy to see so many on here thinking that having a poor OL is no big deal and can be easily remedied with quick passing. Saturday's game could not have been a bigger eye opener for those people. Kendall Briles solution to a poor OL is having them practice diving in the swimming pool and run bubble screens till his face turns blue while our guys have gotten better at the fundamentals and we would effectively max protect on the deep balls.

Huge day for the OL and absolutely the number one reason we were able to put up the amount of points we did.

Fine game by the Oline. Kudos to DJ for the blitz pickups. They all deserved that one. Line play on both sides absolutely won this game for us. And THAT has a nice ring to it.

Donaldson has become less and less mobile and has not been dominate at the point of attack. What a waste of talent.

I don't disagree, but he played one of his best career games on Saturday. FSU's strength is the middle of their line, and he didn't allow a pressure all game on Saturday.

Hopefully that continues.
