Honestly Golden was better than Manny

Golden was not a good coach, but he had to deal with the Shapiro fallout and sanctions and his biggest downfall was hiring coach defenseless D'onofrio. If he fired that clown, he might have had some success. Diaz is lost and isn't ready for this. This team looks lost every weekend and there is some decent talent, they're hibernating waiting to be coached up. Besides the OL being the obvious gorilla in the room, now we have a big kicker problem, I would get Hedley practicing FG's if he hasn't done so already.

I originally upvoted, but I took back the upvote once I realized you said Golden might have done well if he fired Donofrio.

Golden would have been a bad coach regardless of his staff. But he was a better coach than Manny Diaz.

Golden was bad period! Diaz is just plain lost. We need to hire a coach with a proven P5 track record and no Richt was burnt out.
 
Al Golden is 1000000x better than Manny. It is not even up for debate. He wouldn’t let his butt buddy go which killed us but nobody has ever been as big of a joke as Manny. Temple....Temple is laughing at us and made us look stupid and pathetic. Which we are

Naw Golden still sucked. Manny wasn’t ready for this job. But y’all giving AG too much credit (not you some of the other posters pretending that AG was a competent HC) . Dude was terrible.

The disparity between Golden and Diaz shows us just how much of a dumpster fire this U has become. It's been a slow but consistent creep towards irrelevance. The only reason this program has any relevance is that the rest of college football, and it's media apparatus, get wood every time we get our **** pushed in.
