I'm seeing some posts ragging on this kid. My only question is why?? Sure, the fumble was bad, but this outcome was not on him.

I think it is 50-50. The line is horrible at opening running lanes, but Walton was talented enough to overcome it in most cases by getting around the corner and cut backs that Homer is just incapable at doing.

I agree. The offense should be based around him, not that metal midget that couldn't hit a WIDE OPEN Thomas running across on 3rd down. But it's an RPO offense and I don't understand why or how Rosier's allowed to consistently choose 'pass' instead of handing it off. At some point Richt needs to step in and stop this poor play reading by Rosier.

I'm not that critical of him.... he's just oddly stiff for someone his size. Cant cut back or make a defender miss to save his life. I just think Walton would've ran all over UNC today.

Homer is just learning how to carry the load so I'm sure he'll get better. His pass blocking is a much bigger issue. Mark Walton really made our pass blocking look much better than it is.

I have noticed that Rosier has tucked the ball more himself and run it than giving to Homer. I can only assume there is a reason for it, in most cases it looked like the right decision when he has done it.

Homer is great in space. As a runner, he is one cut and up. If the o-line opens holes, he'll kill a D with his speed. If not, he just puts his shoulder down and gets 2 yards. Versus Walton who could make something out of nothing. Honestly, Homer is solid but this is one game we needed Walton bad

DeMarco Murray was blamed for the Eagles' bad running game in Chip Kelly's last year. They ran the same predictable inside zone and sweep plays from the shotgun that Richt uses with no variation to the offense. The next year Murray joined the Titans and almost doubled his yardage output going +0.8 YPC.

Don't blame Homer, don't blame the OL. The run game issues fall squarely on Richt.

P.S. the same is true for the passing game
